Kawasaki KR1000 Endurance Replica

Front wheel bearing seals came today so slotted the front wheel in, now the pub beckons as a reward 🍻and then back to work on the new Cloakroom the next few days 🥵

I have to say Exi, now it's on it's wheels I'm happy. It looks brilliant & can only guess how good it's going to look when finished.
Finishing something like this is actually a sad day in reality because you've finished it, but really the joy is from doing the building. I hope you've got something else in the pipeline ?

My next minor project is re doing the Z1b in post #001 of this thread - keeping the overall look but doing it in standard Z1b colours

Today I was going to buy and fit the new door for the renovated Cloackroom or start tidying up for Vaida's impending visit later in the week  but then I thought Feck It, I'll play with the bike instead. So called a mate to help roll it off the ramp so I didn't drop it (no brakes yet 🤷‍♂️ so didn't want to risk it) and I swapped the alloy ramps for my new bike lift from the rear garage. This also gave me the first chance of taking some better pictures with a proper camera now the bike is on it's wheels 📸 I will download them in a few minutes and post them up but in the mean time here it is on the new lift which gives me much more room to work as it's manoeuvrable :)

So, the wimmin's have gone 🥳 and I'm back to decorating and fettling the bike. Yesterday I chose the bike and drilled some holes, after which I attacked the cover with a jig saw to join them up. It's a job I've been putting off as I thought it would be a bastid' but after an hour I had the desired remains in front of me.

Today I attacked what was left with a power file and another hour later it is done (apart from a bit of fine fettling, paint stripping and polishing).

I now have a non-wiggly gear change shaft and no clutch push rod mechanism gubbings 😊

Had a slight issue with the new 525 offset Front Sprocket that I noticed a few months ago - it was 3mm thinner than a standard one on it's core thickness throwing out my chain alignment. My chain alignment measurements were based on the standard sprocket fitted and allowing the 5/8" offset the new sprocket would give me.

A mate machined up a 3mm spacer today which fits like a glove 😊

Chain alignment is now bang on...

I've measured for the chain on minimum adjustment and it looks like I need 113 links, so a standard 114 link chain might do, but I might order 120 links just to be safe.
