My empire of dirt...

Ok, a very few things have been done
I managed to get the rest of the fence cleaned and another blind put up on the deck, thats been great as we had a fair bit of rain for a good few weeks there.
Moved the kitchen out of the spare bedroom into the area it will eventually end up in, unfortunately it will have to be moved out again so we can re uild that end of the house.
The reason for the .ove was so i could use the spare bed while recovering from the op.
Have i mentioned all this elsewhere?.
Anyhu, other than that we haven't done a great deal on the place.
Im nearly fit enough to start doing a bit but no coin!!! But i do have the last sets of windows to overhaul so they are next up.
In between that and day to day shit im going to make some concrete stepping stones
Ive drawn up the first one and will see how that goes before i draw up any more.
Its gunna be 550mm diameter and sculptured from clay which i will the make a mold offa outta liquid latex or silicon then cast in concrete.
Not done this before although i did make some garden gnomes using this method when i was 13!
Got a mate that makes Concrete stuff from planters up to full ornate building facades using similar techniques and chopped strand fiber concrete so i need to pick his brain a bit.
The pic below is the basic design but no point drawing too many details as it will change a bit as i start wilth the clay and see what works. Its not going to be flat, as in just drawn on a clay disk, more 3d but not raised so much it cant be walked on.
The concrete willl be white and the shaded areas will be dyed black and maybe a few details done with crystals ( like eyes and stars) .

Nice job mate, love ya work!

Fuck all to report but im bored so i shall prattle for a bit.
Last week i started on the 2nd to last set of windows that need overhauling. Got the hardware off, Guinness of a job, smashed out glass, fun job, hacked out old putty, now that truly is a Guinness of a job, takes an age a its difficult not to do damage to the wood as ya go.
Anyhu, i then done the burning off and a small amount of sanding till it became to painfull to go on. That was on saturday and ive done fuck all since.
On the next set of windows, that will be for the bathroom, the middle section is a lower fixed pane and a small top hung sash, i want to swap that out for a fixed casment that matches the side openers . Couple of reasons, i dont like the lil top hung sash and i want all the lower panes of glass the same size coz we plan on putting stainded glass in them ( or at lest window film!).
We t to a local joiner who are pretty good, to get a quote. $850!!!!
Thats glazed and made of cedar, like the originals.. bit of haggling and me doing the glazing and they have said around $400-450.
Bit better.
Just goes to show how much the windows would have cost us a set if made new to the same specs. 3-4 k a set!!! We paid 50 bucks a set.
Also got a price on getting a dutch door made for the back door . 4k ish!!! I will be making my own. Somehow...
Hey! @The skitz hows ya door making skills?
Thought my shoulder would be up for doing quite a bit more by now and although we are quite broke, was hoping to make a big push and trying to get the outside of the house near as done this side of christmas but it just aint gunna happen.
