My empire of dirt...

So over the last few weeks ive managed to get all the new cladding pretty much finished painting, just 1 coat to go on 1 wall. It all needed 3 top coats which surprised me as i though this colour would cover well.
Ive still got top coats to go on a set of windows and the french doors but thats not going to happen this winter as today i had the call from the hospital and am to have shoulder surgery in 2 weeks time.
I should be pleased that its finally happening but im a bit pissed off as i was told i get at least 4 weeks notice and i have alot to get in order by then.
Im part way through a customer's job ( about 5 weeks laft to go) and now that has to go on hold . Also as id not heard anything i stupidly have spent quite a bit of money of late on materials and life in general. 4 weeks notice would have given me a bit more time to save a bit more money.
Things are going to be very tight financially for some time.
On the up side, hopefully when all healed up, i might just be pain free for the first time in many many years.
Well, pain free in that shoulder, the other still needs doing and every other joint in my body aches most days!!!
Anyhu..
No pics to add, will post some tomorrow. Just cant sleep so thought id write some shit..
Oh, bought a couple of clear outdoor blinds for the deck last weekend! Fucken ace!!!
A few years ago i told b to give the clothes dryer away as it was in storage and taking up space. Ive not heard the fucken end of it. Every time it rains, she moans about it.
Tbh, she doesn't really but i know it pisses her off. Anyhu, with the blinds up the clothes line is in a dry space.
We need one more blind to finish the whole side of the deck as we only bought 2 to see how they worked out. Was gunna buy the 3rd this weekend but am now to scared to spend more money!

Got a bit more of the fence cleaned last sat as well. Gunna try an do the rest before the op but not sure ill be able to, got loads to do and tbh my head isnt in it atm.
That said, ive decided not to stress too much, all i really have to do is sort some tools out and try and make my lil world as one handed as possible.
( and i dont mean in an @WAYNE kinda way!!!!)

Are you going to start a shoulder rebuild thread? How is it going anyhow?
Na, the house thread is slow enough, a shoulder one would be slower the a certain kawasaki build thread..
i think the shoulder is doing good, hard to tell as im not allowed to use it at all. The first 48 hrs were very painful, a real struggle to find any relief at all, the next 48 vastly better but still quite tender and hard to sleep.
Now, 6 days in, ive nearly weaned off the pain killers and there are times when there is no pain at all and i nearly forget anything has been done.
The hardest bit now is doing nothing.
Mowed the lawn one handed today, piece of cake, just tricky starting the mower left handed.
Night time is still a struggle as i hate sleeping on my back, and have to sleep with the sling on and a pillow under the arm so i dont roll over onto me arm. Get a bit of cramp in the bicep so i take the dling off and straighten the arm for 10 mins. Dont know if im supposed to and cant get in touch with the surgeon but im sure it will be ok.
On the morning after surgery the surgeon and his team stopped by for a 30 second chat. Asked me if i had any questions. I had a few but being still high as a kite and having no idea about recovery i didnt know what to ask. 24 hours later and i had loads of questions but know one to answer them.
Rang but cant talk to the surgeon, just a nurse who had no clue.
Anyhu, its all good. I think!

Ok, a very few things have been done
I managed to get the rest of the fence cleaned and another blind put up on the deck, thats been great as we had a fair bit of rain for a good few weeks there.
Moved the kitchen out of the spare bedroom into the area it will eventually end up in, unfortunately it will have to be moved out again so we can re uild that end of the house.
The reason for the .ove was so i could use the spare bed while recovering from the op.
Have i mentioned all this elsewhere?.
Anyhu, other than that we haven't done a great deal on the place.
Im nearly fit enough to start doing a bit but no coin!!! But i do have the last sets of windows to overhaul so they are next up.
In between that and day to day shit im going to make some concrete stepping stones
Ive drawn up the first one and will see how that goes before i draw up any more.
Its gunna be 550mm diameter and sculptured from clay which i will the make a mold offa outta liquid latex or silicon then cast in concrete.
Not done this before although i did make some garden gnomes using this method when i was 13!
Got a mate that makes Concrete stuff from planters up to full ornate building facades using similar techniques and chopped strand fiber concrete so i need to pick his brain a bit.
The pic below is the basic design but no point drawing too many details as it will change a bit as i start wilth the clay and see what works. Its not going to be flat, as in just drawn on a clay disk, more 3d but not raised so much it cant be walked on.
The concrete willl be white and the shaded areas will be dyed black and maybe a few details done with crystals ( like eyes and stars) .

Given your joinery skills, have you given a thought to resin furniture? Quick example and they sell for mucho dinero's

I have but i dontt really like it, some is up for strong money but does it fetch it?, the products used are fucken expensive and there is alot of trail and error involved unless you can work with someone that already has the skills.
Dont get me wrong i have seen some fantastic pieces but by and large its not my thang.
Also our market is very small for mega expensive niche items.
