1098 SF battery upgrade

When charging in parallel you've got the two linked minus to minus and pos to pos but do you then connect the charger to both terminals of one battery or to the minus on one battery and to the pos on the other?
All + joined together and All - joined together, after say... 6 hours... just disconnect the known good battery.

Jim, if you are seriously looking at going LiPo battery for the SF, the Shindengen SH847 is the RR you need, its a transistorised series regulator, no shunting of volts just cuts charging to the battery, not cheap cocker but the dogs bollocks. (y)

Dude.... where the F'eck do you think that generator set energy goes?
It doesn't "Cut" disconnect or the coils would over heat.... It still gets dissipated as heat.
In fact it is better (and recommended) as it is able to dissipate more heat, so the stator runs cooler.

Stock v Shindengen SH847 (the bigger one).

WTF are you on about, jumping to conclusions again, that fucking holier than thou attitude of yours.
If you reread what I posted I was inferring the RR efficiently stopped sending voltage to the battery, converting the energy to heat, where did I type the word disconnect?

As an electronics engineer I read what you wrote and took it to mean the words you used.
It literally shunts "the VOLTS" as you said it didn't!!! (to the larger heatsink).
However you've understood that the excess energy is converted to heat.... which by the way is exactly as the OEM does......
PS.... the OEM works in the same way.

Try to be more precise with your language.

again, where did the word disconnect appear, you cast your critical eye over the statement, collated a misinformed conclusion and replied with vitriol as you often do!
the pedantic plumber strikes again! :D

Yes mr 'chip on yer shoulder' It would have been wiser on my part to have not inferred cutting anything, the info was directed at Jim to help with his decision of possibly opting for LiPo battery for his SF and not to a plumber.

Well aren’t you two a pair of thikos
Everyone knows that when the magician who lives in the magic black box tells the fairies to chuck a bucket of nutty slack on t fire back , the fairies who can’t multitask stop make magic electric
Simple really
