Then whoever told me it was €100 fine was fibbing it does look a grey area but I was so fed up I wanted evidence I hadn’t tampered with the boxes but they would not allow pictures and gave me no paperwork to show they had searched

When you see the stupid laws abroad you are glad to live here

In Slovenia a waitress did not give a receipt as the till was playing up but did intend to give the receipt when she could sort the till… the customer was undercover government fella and she was fined like €2000 as it’s law to give receipt and for the customer to walk out with it

Totally hideous and it badly affected the girl … I knew her it’s a genuine tale

Char I don’t know if it is a valid law mate it’s just what I was told and what happened with me … and let’s face it decent old bill won’t care but my experience of Spanish police is I’m very cautious… although a few weeks ago at Santander I had a local police officer absolutely froffing down his top at me for walking round with my passport as I can’t reach across a van with shit on the seats he went ape … he might still be froffing and livid he did not look like he was calming down quickly although I have seen him since and I gestured if I could dare leave the van with my passport which he allowed
