Best Duke to live with

I have just done a tour of Ireland on my new Multi 1100 and believe me rode on every type of road surface available and covered all speeds possible. All with luggage on the back and the Multi IMHO came out very well indeed. Probably the only concern was the seat that felt a bit on the hard side at times, (so may go for a gel one) but after about 1000 miles riding it may be something to be expected.
All through the trip I felt I had one over the other lads who were on Jap 4s as I had the comfort of the upright sitting position, but if I really needed too, the sportiness and agility to keep up.
Not a great bike expert but the general consensus of opinion I have heard from other Multi owners is the new Multi is far better than the old one. So worth having a test ride.

Look at one of THESE before you buy a gel seat, I had one on a 900ss and the 748 and now I have one one the Monster.

Started wanting a sports tourer for me and the wife along came my ST2. Decided more power was needed hence the ST4.
2.5yrs later and 18k miles under my ar@@ the wife allowed me to buy a 999 with the Xerox paint job and all the goodies.(I've kept the ST4 though.)
Having owned both I think the 999 is actualy easier to ride than the ST's,turns in easier copes better with low revs(14 tooth front sprocket fitted)
and not as uncomfy as people may think!

But the ST is the best of both worlds fine for weekends away with the wife or play time with my mates. You may have to wrestle the corners more by ;) hanging off the bike(on my own of course) so if one had to go it would be the 999.(but you would have to prise me off it!!)

very nice. will look into buying it, but thanx for the tip.

adding a DPP gel seat shouldn't be too expensive, you can usually sell 05 and later seats on ebay for reasonable money :) TBH the gel one isn't that much more comfy than the factory 05 and on seat. Fitted one to mine and it has helped a tiny bit on longer rides but I'm not certain I'd bother if i bought a new multi.

03/04 were fookin uncomfortable, no wonder they changed them
