Doh!

Had a small spill on the Multi yesterday.
Stopped at an uphill T-Junction..went to put my right foot down.
Next thing I know I'm on the floor with the bike on top of me.
Struggled to get the bike back up (it's bloomin heavy when it's layed down)
Anyway eventually got it back up and back home.
Damaged front brake lever, mirror, bar end, guard/indicator and rear brake lever.
After a quick trip to dealers got most of the bits in stock so set about fitting them.
Couldn't believe what I thought would be a 20min job turned into a right saga!
The connector for the indicator is cable tied into the wiring loom UNDER THE TANK!
So had to strip what seemed like most of the front of the bike to get the tank off and swap the indicator...eventually got it back together and thought I better test it out before refitting all the plastics...switched ignition on and suddenly petrol is spraying everywhere...one of the quick release tank connectors is not seating right. Tried to re-seat it and realise the tiny plastic release clip is broken. So sorted a temp fix with cable ties but really need to sort a proper fix.
Had a look on-line and it looks like you have to buy the whole fuel pipe system as a set for about £180...ouch! Anyone tried to fix this before, can you get the connector as a separate piece, or should I just accept the pain and get the set...I don't want to risk it and suddenly have fuel spraying everywhere

I feel for you mate, you can buy QR connectors for around £15 if you can get the old ones off the fuel pipe.

Sorry to hear about you spill Mate, Glad you are OK - anyway - nowt wrong with a couple of well placed cable ties, esp. for a Yorkshire Man !!

Ducati John replaced the clips on mine last service as they were worn, £8 a piece . Give him a shout...assuming they the the same as 749...

aww bummer!! It's always the simple things that seem to go wrong too. At least you're ok and the bike will fix :)

Don't worry Jon looked OK when I saw him on Sat at the dealers after his minor mishap. Although the 2 bruised items will nodoubt be his pride and his wallet.

Good to see you again Jon and all was ok, but for the minor issues.

Sorry to hear about your 'off' - sounds as though everything is in hand to get back on the road though

Thanks for your support guys...After some investigation it would appear that any solution other than a dealer fitment of the official part would invalidate the warranty.
The bike is only a month old and if there was any problem such as worst case a fuel leak that set the bike/me on fire I would be knackered.
So it is £214 for the part plus 3-4 hours labour to fit...ouch!
Still, I am in one piece and will be more careful in future.
There's a warning here for all the Multi owners be very very careful with the Quick release fuel connectors.
