That just looks like you ran over Wayne's cat ^^
No more cat, the polish that had the flat below me have moved out, i thought they where doing the place up but they where stealing the fucking kitchen fitments :ROFLMAO: .
Funny as fuck, fair play to them, i was watching them load it all piece by peice into a van.
Gutted i liked that cat, the good thing is i don't have to keep vacuming fucking cat fur up every five minutes.

Aww mate, loosing your companion like like that, the fucking cheek of them Polish, will you miss your pussy? (y) :p

Just 1 part of the barrels I wasn’t happy with, looked like a reaction but everything was spotlessly clean 🧼 and wiped with isopropanol before paint so it was puzzling 🤔 it was on both visible sides of the barrel casting…

Decided to dremel it off with a wire attachment and prep it again only to find it was in the casting so must always have been the same 😮

So decided to stone off what I could with a stone in the dremel

It’s now much better and Sat drying in the garden 🪴

Could those marks be from where rubber damper blocks were fitted?

Today was replace the APE High Tensile Studs day 🥳

I noticed when stripping the engine many moons ago that the outer 4 studs were set short so there was only about half the thread showing that there should have been for the Cylinder Head Nuts (and that on an Engine built to Stage 5 Pro Stock spec by one of the top Engine Builders back in the '90's). I just goes to show the experts sometime cut corners that shouldn't have been cut 👀

I concluded the outer bolts from APE were a little shorter than stock, so I used alloy tube to space the bottom of the stud drilling in the Crank Case on these 4.

I did a test to see how far they crushed under torque, the bottom funnelled itself into the drill taper in the bottom of the holes.....

I then dry built the Engine stack...

And then measured the resultant thread show through when compared to the other 2 lengths of stud which were correct..... this showed I needed a further 2mm off the spacers to match the correct studs. They would have been OK as the base and head gasket will add another 1mm or so to the stack height, but I had visions of the studs being wrong and the head not torqueing down with the nuts bottoming out on the threads so better to do a belt and braces job at this stage!

Then finally thread locked and torqued all the studs.....

Gasket kit arrived yesterday, these are the ones I need (apart from the funny shaped O-Ring as this is redundant when using the copper head gasket).....

These are the rest that are not needed - but cheaper to buy the kit than separate.....

Why have you got the cylinder head on your captain America duvet
I’ve been cutting that old duvet up and putting bits in the bin every fortnight, luckily I still had the last bit as it was perfect for building the head on with the valve spring compressor - oh, and the captain America bit is my table cloth silly 🤷‍♂️

Just fitted one of the exhaust collets that Chad designed and made for me, will do the other 3 tomorrow as I've done far too much today 🥵

These and the larger diameter down tubes will give a much more free flowing exhaust than before :)

I used OEM Audi Copper oval nuts so they should stay put with no thread lock

My Engine Mount bolts arrived 2 days ago - just getting ready for the big day on Friday when the engine gets built and hopefully inserted into the frame

I went for the 1.5X thread depth flanged nuts as it's proper innit 🤷‍♂️ - bloody expensive though....

Spent an hour today grinding and polishing the lettering off all the bolt heads - the fully threaded bolt was somehow ordered by mistake so just ordered another which should be with me by Wednesday fingers crossed!
