Strada Aperta almost finished

Got to say that Steve's earlier observations are quite correct and that a couple of the most recent shots do remind me of this guy :D

I really fancy one too, depends on the bid for the Hyper. £9.99 + VAT probably, remember Ducati's hold their value well  sure I read that somewhere..... The Beano by the looks of things :p

sheeesh, i will not be getting bid as much as that now.....

Well, the multi wasn't a looker and was a decent bike so it looks like they are continuing the theme.

On the shot of dash and manual screen adjustment below, it looks like a couple of fairing storage bins for stuff like glasses which is a nice touch for blind old gits like me :) Not sure where a GPS will go, possibly involves above h/bar clamp like Guzzi did on the Norge.

it's as less as the moto morini, tiger etc. an off-road-bike. all features are imho only for on-road rides useful. the adventure styling suggest too much (as it do for x5/x3). i reckon that the new bike will sell better than the actual multistrada which is basicly a got balanced bike with, in some eyes, poor look.

sorry, milo, i was wrong...:D

Adventure Bikes

I wish Ducati would stick to what they do best. BMW have this market well and truly sewn up with the whole Ewan / Farley Charley thing.
I always thought it was a brilliant cock up by KTM who weren't interested in supplying the bikes for the first expedition by the twosome. Benefit of hindsight !
I had one of the original R100GS's back in the early 90's and nobody this side of the Continent got the whole adventure trailie thing, all thought i was mad. Actually they were right, it was a pile of crap !
I couldn't think of a worst choice of bike to go round the world on and i only did South of France and back on it !
I had lots of better Bee M's before it but was swayed by this whole 'Adventure' thing.
Anyway. my original point being manufacturers should concentrate on their strengths. Others have tried this but have made very little inroad to the stranglehold BMW have. It is all about the marketing and image.

LOL steve.... you need to get out more/do more..... far too much sparetime on your hands.... 749 needing a second coat????;):D

Multi Strada

Good name and describes the bike well I think... besides that with Ducati's current naming record it was heading towards "Ducati Roadbike" :D:D:D:D:D

I have to say that's actually a good looking bike.... everything the ugly strada should have been... although they are (wisely) sticking with the Multi Strada name. 10/10 for that one - IMHO.

Don't think it will ever rival a BMW though, Ducati (dealers) need to get away from this "anything over 5000 miles is a write-off mentality".

It's all down to price now, no doubt £3000 more than it's rivals :o

Hopefully the pictures are fairly accurate, if so it looks a great bike and if the pricing is taken into context probably expensive value for money as always. Seriously though, I hope its better value than an SF.

:comp2:  :comp2: :D

Well done sir, I thought I was the only one who thought the Streetfighter was overpriced... and not that pretty either.

Well, there have been some rumours of eye-watering prices for the new bike over at multistrada.net  Not long until we get the official info now though.

Even if the prices are similar to an 1198/s etc It'll be worth it. The outgoing Multi is a great bike to ride and has many positive points (+1 or 2 negative 1's) even if the looks are hard to understand. I hope atleast that Ducati has made some massive improvement with the New Multi. I think it looks at little like the Triumph Tiger perhaps? 1 of the few none Ducati's that I like. Not turning to the darkside, but put a V-twin in there and it has many possibilities..

At the moment though of all the naked bikes Ducati do, the Monster 1100s is the 1 I'd like most of all and where I'd spend some spare cash (if I have any left that is).

:eek::eek::eek: don't let your Hyper hear you say that... Awesome wee bike....

Reported the new Multistrada 1200 will cost £10,995 just shy of £1,000 more than the current BMW R1200GS (£9,305) and the KTM SMT (£9,595).

I still like it but is it a grand better ?

But the 'S' version is reported to be over 14K

Its still got 40 odd bhp over the BM and Triumph though ;)

I guess these prices are still to be confirmed, but £11,000 for the cooking version means it's around £2,600 more than the current basic Multistrada.

£14k for the S would make it £4,250 more than the current S model.

Bit rich for my blood!

I took a look at the microsite last night, some nice features and stuff like centre stand and electronic suspension make it look interesting ( more so than the pointless 150bhp) but i hate to think what the the touring S will cost. I dont mind forking out for a BM'er which still has value if you put miles on it but the depreciation on a £14K Ducati touring bike will be hard to imagine :(

Maybe its a consequence of the falling £ but I can't see me being able to afford a new one :(
