The KTM has luggage carrying issues, but it can alway be my reseve. And you have reminded me that the bike is three years old this year, so should check when it does need its MoT. Also, there is nothing to stop me buying something. I have the dosh! Just not the space!
Do yourself a huge favour Perry , let @Dirty Leeds pick up your Ducati’s and ship them both to @Nelly and they will come back better as they came out of the factory, never mind if you ever going to ride them, if not they are good to be sold

No, as you don’t know what condition it will be in. Take Frank’s advice and just ship one to Nelly, or for you, MotoLuigi is probably closer and get a full service inc Desmo and belts on it then you’ll know it’s perfect for a good while.

Done and returned last summer. Mind you it still needs a new gearbox but can’t track down a 3speed gearbox from the early 50s. It jumps out of 2nd under full load on hills. Someone suggested getting an early BSA Bantam engine and dropping that in as their copies of the DKW

However, the BSA gears won’t fit in the DKW so it needs to be an entire engine, for which spares may then be more readily available should the need arise. However his dilemma then is, it’s not a DKW but a hybrid/resto mod or whatever the hell the term is.
