My Energy supplier has gone bust.

Eon got in touch today to ask me to fill in a direct debit form.... I did this a while back.
They nicely explaned that the large credit with Symbio had yet been transfered over.
EONS bills will start from the 28th November. .... so who have I been paying since Symbio went under?
Worryingly they say I can set my own budget per month and they will adjust it 1/2 way through the year.....
They suggested £29 a month for a 3 or 4 bedroom house (flat or 1-2 bed house were the smaller choices).
I set it to £300 pcm in the hope that might cover it.
Just bypass the meter for 80% of your usage, keep the bills at a average manageable level?🤷🏻‍♂️😇

Oooo. We're off. (y)

I would throw shell as far as you can.......I just did. They only have one tariff and its non negotiable or competitive!

I told them to shove it spoke with EON ( who are also useless counts but what can you do) I got a really helpful chap in England speaking English and also understood and could see what I wanted to do!

So I transferred to EON and am now on.

a combined day and night rate of 20.32 per KW
standing charge of 23.77
I am also free to leave anytime.........

top job

Exactly the same deal as us.

I've said before... some right wrong'uns on here.
I think it is only fair, they take the piss with pricing so two supplies going in seems fair , one taken well before the meter, pick up underground and bring into the house using different routing, it’s a one off investment which pays itself back way quicker then any other investment like solar panels , heat pumps, no need for insulation either, fuck Greta 😇👀😆😎

Since ZOG's demise yesterday I've been looking at alternative GAS suppliers....... WTF.... really.
Zog was 17.85p/day and 2.7322p/kWh last November.
This tariff was due to end 22nd December and the new prices were to be 25.02p/day and 4.1685p/kWh

eDF (who we have been transferred to) refused to give me the rates, saying it will be their very best and all will be revealed in my welcome pack that I'll receive over the next few weeks.
This is all I can find on various forums and reflects many suppliers prices....... WTF!!!!

Some sensitive stomachs out there today Barry.... have you received your booster yet?
..... you'll be invincible I tell yer.

I've said this before, Energy debt and poverty will hit people harder that interest rate rises.
My guess is a rise to 0.25% base rate in Dec and over 1% rise through 2022.
With Gas increases of +300% within the CAP and 1000% open market and electric doubling I can see energy bills being the next hot topic.

Yeah but how do you do it off a live 100 amp feed ?

You can pm me if you don’t want to explain in public 😉

Well, I was paying £105 with Green, my new payment is £111 after submitting my meter readings. 🤷‍♂️

I'm fully expecting a big hike and will search around in the next week or so.

I used to work with a guy who knew somebody who was ex-Electricity board who would 'live stab' your supply upstream of the meter (outside the property) and run a feed to an electric boiler in an outbuilding. He reckoned the electric co's would never be able to trace it if you are rural and the only way you'd get rumbled would be if the heating oil co grassed you up for not buying any oil :ROFLMAO: if I wasn't in the habit of moving house regularly I may have enquired further

Paul, how do you think they move the meter?
They don't shut off the supply. Its all done live.
The man that joined my oily cloth covered lead to the new concentric cable was an old guy with three +40year "apprentices" watching.... in a thunder storm, under an umbrella... if I'd had a video phone back then I would have filmed it.....
Here's two modern cables being joined.
