What people don’t realise is there were less ‘regular’ 998S made than any of the Ltd Edition versions ie Bayliss, Bostrom and FE
Mine was sold with a carbon belly pan, extra termis end cans and the single seat... I think others had the same deal... perhaps that was a special offer.
Carbon belly pan was standard on the S model, single seat and additional end cans would have been options.

It's not an FE (Final Edition) thoughIf the VAT has been paid on this it’s a relative bargain at £14k for a 998S FE. The ad is silent on this subject though so I guess it hasn’t and there’s another £2.8k to pay, even so that’s still under £17 ono which is less than any other FE that’s come up recently. ‘Import discount’ I guess.

Do you think that headstock plaque is fake? I have to admit when I saw it there was something about the bike that puzzles me.It's not an FE (Final Edition) though
FE's had Italian flag logo on the side, but I see this one had a plaque?
Says it's got V5 so maybe still registered in UK?Then there’s this one, 998S, at £13.5 ono (he’s asking €16k over here) the only problem is it’s in a state of unregistered limbo and who ever buys it will have to pay either £2.7k vat if they ship it back to the UK (plus £500 shipping) or €3,680 vat if they try to register it here. He really should have sorted out that issue before Brexit. He ain’t gonna sell it at that price.

Dunno, any FE I've seen has the tricolour on the side but this is an import so who knows?
The final edition of the 916 family was produced in limited numbers and released in 2004. There were 981 of these bikes made but they were not individually numbered, but did have some identifying features.[better source needed][5] In total 419 biposto and 562 monoposto bikes were made. See breakdown below. The engine made 136bhp and was the newer testastretta unit that had previously been used in the R bikes and included Ohlins front and rear. Other features for this limited edition model are You get a Limited Edition plaque on the headstock, tank graphics, tri-colore tailpiece graphics and upgraded Ohlins front suspension.
It is still registered in the Uk but it’s not physically in the UK so anyone who brings it back will be re-importing it and will have to pay UK vat. Someone could get badly sting here if they’re not careful.
