What whiskey/whisky are you drinking? 🥃

I'm a cynical twat so if it's being advertised as a top investment (with a 10 odd year time frame) I'm suspicious that it's not all it's cracked up to be
It was advertised on MSN so I'm pretty sure it's scammy - like the nobs on TV selling an 'Exclusive 1/8th Gold Sovereign Coin for hundreds of pounds (1/8th FFS!) and they scream about it being tax free when it's more than 5 times the Gold Value 🤣

But I'm also sure if you know what you are doing and don't include these middle men you could turn a decent profit and someone on here will know (not AC or Perry though)

Absolutely, I know of people who buy and sell bottles and make a good profit, a whole barrel (or share) is a bit long term unless you intend drinking it and any profit is a bonus 😁

Seeing as the Queen has left us, I just opened this and can recommend it's smoothness - haven't a clue where it came from (other than my sideboard where I store a few bottles received as B'Day/Xmas gifts ) and I've never heard of it.

Tonight, I extracted an unopened bottle from my sideboard (where I keep Xmas/Bday bottles) and it is this (from the Orkneys)-

43.5% and as smooth as a strippers legs - it's good but at £40 a bit expensive
I made a lamp out of a Highland Park bottle 🤔

I went to Aldi today to buy another bottle of Cassario Black Spiced Rum, but the feckers have sold out

Anyway, they are selling this, so I thought "Why not? You like cherries Ron"

I'm just sipping it neat - it's smooth, very flavoured and for £15, it's better than Everclear's insults (y)(y)(y)

Following a very bad experience with too much cheap whiskey in 1981 I didn`t touch a drop till last December when I was bought a bottle of Glen Marnoch. I opened it not expecting to like it only to find it delicious. I think The Trouble summed up the taste perfectly as a cross between tractor oil and a bonfire although the label describes it a little differently .
I liked it so much that I wanted to buy more so I googled it and was surprised to find it was from Aldi @ £18.49 and that it generally gets cracking reviews.
Nearly 3 bottles later it was time to top up again but Aldi had none so I tried the Laphroaig from Tesco alongside the Glen Marnock below. Still very drinkable but tasting and smelling a little of anaesthetic I don`t like it as much.
I`m still very much a novice with just 8 weeks of single malt drinking behind me but I`d like some recommendations and descriptions preferably sticking below £30 for now .
