There were some really neat looking cars there. Some classics, some brand new. All really nice, compact inviting looking two seaters, not massive gaudy things you might expect from American cars. All sounded nice too without being stupid loud. V8s I assume.^ My Granddaughter would be in her element there. She loves American cars. She wants a Mustang. I think she had better pass her test first and get a few years of experience with something less aggressive. She wants to move to the US and start up a garage, any suggestions @Faith ?
You were lucky to find itFailed to follow my ritual leaving work the other day and put my watch in my jacket pocket.
I found it 2 miles south from it's last know location.

No. All good. I attended a Garda BikeSafe course yesterday. 3hrs to ride there (Limerick), 4 hrs out on the bikes and then 3 hrs home, ‘twas a long day, but brilliant.
Highly recommended.
For those that haven’t done it, get yourself booked on one, it can only help, not mentioning any names or making any suggestions but @WAYNE
The last two incidents were no my fault!!Oh oh, a bit of bother with the law?

Could they have been avoided?
In two words, no chance. Regardless of what bike i could of been on they where both out of my hands,Could they have been avoided?
Whilst not being there and obviously not seeing it as it unfolded, I do beg to differ. In two words, no chance. Regardless of what bike i could of been on they where both out of my hands,![]()
The clever people would suggest you are aware of the impending hazard coming up behind and take evasive action before the collisionAlong time ago I stopped at a roundabout on my moped and the car behind me went into the back of me and sent me sprawling down the road. How was that avoidable by me other than by staying in bed that day![]()

That's exactly how the powers that be see it mate, the car driver obviously was totally to blame. The insurance company's use this to load drivers who have been involved in accidents that were not their fault. Human condition, they'll fuck you over no matter the issue.Along time ago I stopped at a roundabout on my moped and the car behind me went into the back of me and sent me sprawling down the road. You could have had a neon sign on your back showing 'tooclosecunt'Were you wearing a 'POLITE' police copy vest at the time? If so, not wearing it might have avoided the 'accident'![]()
I thought you said you were in an angry battle with a car and went to undertake it, then it got youIn two words, no chance. Regardless of what bike i could of been on they where both out of my hands,![]()
My x wife was going to book me one of those courses ran by Hampshire police for my birthday. Can't remember why but in the end she booked a day at a bird of prey sanctuary, fucking great day out that was.Maybe the Forum should book Wayne on a Police BikeSafe course too? That was the best, and most useful, €46 I’ve ever spent.
Well, apart from that one time in Amsterdam![]()

A few months back I had an incident where me and my car were nearly crushed by a logging truck.
I'm one of those that looks in my rear view mirror often and especially when coming to a stop at lights ect. On this occasion the lights had turned red and on looking in the rear view mirror I noticed the truck that was behind me didn't appear to be slowing down.. I was nearly at a stand still , I floored it but the car took a second to kick down into first ( automatic ) and i pulled to the left of the car in front, nearly mounting the pavement. At the exact moment I floored it i hear the truck lock it's wheels , I managed to get along side the car in front and the truck came to a stop millimeters behind that cars rear bumper, now occupieing the space where I would have been if I hadn't of seen it coming. 30 odd ton of truck , even at walking speed would have made my day a Lil painfull I think...
So yea, even if being taken out from the rear, sometimes there is an option to avoid it.
Obviously not always by any stretch but sometimes...
It's a pretty scary and sobering thing ain't it? I micro seconds decision being the difference between life and almost certain death.. I don't know about you but for me, other than being a Lil shaken by the experience, I just felt very fuck smug about myself!!!! A lesser man would have perished!!!!I had similar one foggy morning on the M62 - I was keeping my distance from a truck infront but there was a truck right up behind me - I didn't want to pass the truck infront as it was too foggy. Next thing, there were red lights and stationary traffic across all three lanes and the truck infront slams his brakes on. I pulled out to the middle lane just as the truck behind ploughed into the one that had been infront of me...I'd have been squashed in the middle of them. It was my mums car too.

It was a mess.
