What the feck have you done today?

I wasn’t googling, nor was I duckduckgo ing, it was what I think young people call a meme (meem).
But since you asked I have duckducked it and it seems there is a lot of conflicting facts, choose one:-

You’re welcome.
I`m helpfully posting this here in case you ever "lose" one and need their assistance.

I have no knowledge or experience of rodent entombment, I was just trying to be helpful as always.

… and, if I did try it, it’d have to be a female furry creature, ‘cos I ain’t no pervert.

Well, the past couple of weeks actually. Been to WDW26. It was hot. Here’s some pics, especially one for @Noobie

Hmmm... A Paul Smart themed Smuglyfarter? What do the think @Noobie - could this be the one?

That's you only allowed on the net when you're told you can then

They land late tonight - wake up in the morning and I treat them to Sunday Lunch at 12 noon in a York boozer, then I meet my mates at 2pm in a York beer garden for a few hours and they can come with me or go shopping or go home.....

I have my priorities sorted 🥳

Went for a swim in the river Allen at Whitfield, Northumberland.
Found a nice little pool further down stream from the accessible bit where most people go. Had the place to myself.
Wasn't cold at all and deep enough to swim properly. Above head height in places.
Only managed a few strokes and a splash about before hauling out and sunning myself on the rocks. Made me realise what and old fart I've become. Need to do a lot more of this kind of thing. Twenty years ago I'd have been doing the crawl up and down that pool non-stop for an hour and then got a mask and snorkel out. If it's hot tomorrow I might go again but really early in the morning.
Was going to get the bike out when I got home but there was a crack or two of thunder while I was swimming and the sky looked a bit threatening. Hopefully back to sunshine tomorrow. Swim and bike would be a perfect day.

I was in a golf match with a guy on Thursday evening who does open water swimming - did a relay comp last year at Windermere; 6 hours to do one length 😳 would take me six weeks!

It would take me six weeks to get my jeans off and enter the water.

Seriously though, I'm coming round to the view that age is a state of mind - not that I know the age of your swimming ace. He could be 30, the bastard.
If you believe you can still do and enjoy all the things you used to. just get on and do them without judging yourself and you find you can. And thus the clock ticks slower.
For the remainder of this summer I shall make wild swimming my new other-than-biking hobby. It doesn't matter that I'm not the bulldog in the buff that I used to be nor that I only breast stroke twenty yards before lathing water over my head and spluttering like an old man at the seaside. It's doing it at all and still enjoying it that matters.

As we get older try not to judge ourselves by the old you or the young blokes around you but look at the old lads who a fucked and fit for the scrap heap at the same age . It always makes me feel better 👌

I’d guess he was early 50s

Cleared the last of dads stuff out of his bungalow, took the last readings for the water, electric and gas and due to drop the keys back to the council on Monday. Initially we had only applied for a medical power of attorney thinking he has so little money that we wouldn't need a financial Power of attorney.

It soon turned out we did need a financial power of attorney so one has now been set up. When you deal with his state pension, his bank, mobile phone contract, even the electric bills, it is so much more easier other wise they simply tell you they can't talk to you as you are not the account holder so if you are starting to experience dementia/alzhiemers of a parent/ sibling etc, it's worth getting both.

As to dad, he still has moments of clarity when he asks for help finishing things as at 88 he feels he's had a good run. He also has episodes of asking me and the other brothers "who are you?"

All in all though, he's safe, we still see the real dad on most occasions and the care home is fantastic with him. so It's the best compromise
