What the feck have you done today?

Gregg’s in York have had record sales this month 🤣

In Church of England that's 95.5 ft/lb. That will be at the crank. My Diavel with the Termi pipe and a remap makes 94 ft/lb at the wheel, so presumably the 1260 MTS would be the same if uncorked as it's the same engine. I can see the appeal of the DVT 1260 engine in adventure bike format (or streetfighter - they should have built one) as IMO it's the best Desmo engine Ducati ever made. I wish it was still in production.

The only thing I've never quite liked about the 1200 and later Multis is that you sit in them rather than on them. On the KTM you feel very much perched on top which I much prefer.
SCS clutch on the MV is a game changer

No to touch the clutch apart from popping it in gear before you set off

It didn’t take long to get used to it after using a clutch for 40 years 😃

What’s the difference to having a quick shifter?

You never need to use the clutch - automatically engages and disengages the clutch based on engine RPM. Google rekluse clutch :)
Do you decide when to change gear or does the system? Is it the clutch engagement/disengagement that's automated or the decision when to shift? I hate automatic cars unless they're at least 4 litre and 300+ bhp.
Doing away with the physical action of operating the clutch lever I could cope with. Surrendering control over when to shift I could not.
All my bikes are very torquey. Sometimes I'll short shift and ride the wave of torque (on my KTM I often change up to overtake. Counter-intuitive but the thrust you get from the surge of torque makes it a point-and-squirt monster - my Harley was the same). But other times I want to ride out the revs. The Diavel and the KTM both go warp-drive ballistic at around 7000 rpm. I want to choose whether to ride the torque or nail the bhp and that means gear shift timing has to be my choice, not a gizmo box with wires sticking out of it.

Sounds the same as with a quick shifter - just need the clutch when going in or out of neutral?

Sorry for hurting your feelings…🙁

Not with such a slow boy as you no 🤣🤣🤣
Let's find out. I'd advise you to leave the tassels at home. You'll need all the aerodynamic help you can get. I have similar trouble when trying to swim fast in a weedy river. Without close-fitting budgie smugglers (unpleasant but essential) the drag from picking up yards of weed would slow me to a standstill.

Everything stays the same as before / you just do it all without using your hand to engage the clutch.

Clever innit

Mate had the Honda version on his 1200 crosstourer he swore it was better than jebus himself and he hounded me to take a shot and I fucking hated it .. personally I will never own an auto bike and it certainly felt nothing like the quickshifters on my bikes ... funnily enough he went back to a conventional gearbox on his next beemer and now admits he missed the normal gearbox .. strokes for folks innit

You’d need to hold onto my tassels to keep up 🤣

Don’t wear your Diavel Bender pants 🩲

I did wonder when I read ecky thump Yorkshire news and it said a man from York was arrested for naked bathing on Hornsea beach.
Interesting, but that’s you and also your not in Hornsea …

Btw, Hornsea is not in my county either 🥳

Different system entirely

They are clever. A mate has one on his Yammy 450 dirt bike. The engine cut out when he got bogged down in a pond. We dragged the bike out and he got it going but was reluctant to take his hand off the throttle in case the engine died. I held the throttle whilst he put his helmet back on then I revved it, the bike shot forward from underneath him hit another riders leg and fell to the ground. The Yammy rider fell back into the mud too. To say I wasn't' popular would be an understatement but I found it hilarious when I got over the surprise of what I had inadvertently done.

Sounds like a great idea off road 👍
