What the feck have you done today?

Elsie's 6 year old Skoda Fabia (28k miles) was returned from the bodyshop on monday after repairs to the front when she hit a car when exiting Morrison's petrol station a couple of weeks ago.

She admitted liability and the car was collected by Solus (Castleford)-a good 25 miles away- and was driven by their driver from our house.

Lovely job replacing the bumper / spoiler and straightening things up.

So she (Elsie) uses it for the first time yesterday evening and finds that both electric window switches on the front drivers door are "floppy" and loose and obviously not connected.

The passenger side electric window switch works fine.

So I ring Solus this morning to tell them and I get "We haven't touched the switches, as we only worked on the front of the car" - I can't argue that it seems strange that they would take the door panel off, but then again, it's strange that after 4 days in their bodyshop, both switches (which worked perfectly), now are useless.

Solus then said "It must be a co-incidence that they stopped working in the time the car was away from you"

Some fekker in the bodyshop robbed your switches 🤔

We had our 2 older grandchildren over for a BBQ last night, ages 6 & 4. They both like to sit on my motorbikes , start them up and rev them up a little. They took it a stage further last night and asked if they could have the bikes when I`m dead. They asked very matter of factly in the way only young children can . I said yes of course but told them I hoped they have a long wait which they both said was ok. Phew.

They both like tractors too . Their Dad is a keen motocross rider and for his business he buys and repairs a mix of plant machinery amongst other things so since they were tiny they were both getting in and on bikes, diggers, tractors, fork lifts etc and they have both driven some when perched on his lap as well as having their own little Revvi electric motorbikes/scooter type thingies.

Soooo, after deciding on an Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT with a 19" front wheel and realising I needed a 2024 onwards model to get that spec I checked prices to find I needed £14k to £16k to get one with low mileage.
I didn't want a 'blingy; white one with gold wheels which most of them were.

York Motorcycles had a 2026 second hand one in at £16k with a few hundred miles on it and I was going to have a look but it sold for full asking price within a week 😮

So went to see check Padgett's out and bagged a new grey one with black wheels for £13.4 k (list price £17,795) DCT, Showa electronic suspension, heated grips, cruise control etc....

Just need to find a few extra's like centre stand, crash bars and luggage - waiting until Monday to get some prices off Padgett's parts manager 👀

The Red on the bike isn’t actually on the bike, it’s just a reflection from a red wall next to the bike 👀

Well happy with the deal 🥳

Is that mahoosive end can actually on the bike, or is that a reflection?
