What's the difference (apart from price) between a Bitsa and a Hybrid? (asking for a friend) ;)
I think it is one of those questions that realy has no answer, what happens if you put an upgraded throttle cable on a standard bike? Does it become a bitsa, extreme example but what i am getting at it is a minefield.🤷‍♂️ I love Vincent motorcycles and if i had the chance to own one (not bloody likely) there are some great upgrades that i would do to it, some of the 50s stuff is so past it's sell by date. Saying that are you going to ride it all year long weather permitting. I would pile the miles on it, compromise i am well up for and better quality parts, does it make it a bitsa!!

I have fillings, am I a Bitsa 🤔😁

My understanding is steadily increasing. Maybe I should start another thread as I dont want to hijack an existing thread.
I am bwgging to see that one mans bitsa can be anothers, tastefully modded bike. The basic definition would fall under: 1 any bike modified from bog stock. Then there are the simple mods 2 A bike assembled from miscelanious parts. 3 a higher end model modded with cheap parts(like a V4r with a clear clutch cover) or a base model made to look like a higher model( my bike, although it can be returned to stock is currently wearing chinese Fila plastics for track)
Did I miss anything?

You are overthinking it...

"Bitsa" generally refers to something that is cobbled together from various parts, often mismatched

Anything other than this that it's referred to as a bitsa is generally just a piss take 🤷‍♂️

I usually do over think things. I have no cultural reference point for Brittish or proper English slang so I find it fascinating to learn the definitions of all the flowerery vernacular ya all use!

Brits are normally known for their dry, sarcastic and dark humour. Those that aren't normal Brits are just unfunny Guinnesss 😂

Or save a fortune and have gaps that whistle in the wind, may be good deer deterrent whilst out riding 🦌👍
I will be losing all four lower incisors, plus a couple of molars. I have periodontal disease, probably genetic, and this day has been coming for many years. I admit the thought of losing my teeth, especially front ones, has been having a severe psychological effect, hence the idea of implants. Having 50% of your thoughts taken up day and night with what's going on in your jaw takes its toll. The cost is ruinous though. I've had the initial consultation with the surgeon but I've yet to book the preliminary CT scan appointment as I'm still getting my head around the idea of having it done.

Turkish teeth Jim, get it done soonest, before the war starts!

Would it be worth checking out prices for surgery abroad?
A friend had a full set done in India for 10 grand. A full set (which my surgeon said I don't need, and he would be reluctant to pull out healthy teeth) would cost about 30K in the UK.

The only drawback is that if you have them done abroad and something goes wrong or there are problems in the future (and implants aren't guaranteed for life) no UK dental surgeon will touch you.

Edit: I have been making enquiries. If I did go abroad I would pick a European country, partly for ease of travel but also for quality of care and reputation. Hungary and the Czech Republic are apparenty both very good. Not as cheap as Turkey of Thailand but much cheaper than the UK. Hungary is tricky as few people speak English. The Czech Republic would probably be better in that respect.
