Artemis II launch 🚀 🌙 👀

If any of it were true, why would they need to make anything up?

I give not a single fuck about clowns going to space as I might have mentioned before if it makes no difference directly to me its irrelevant really but just to point out for years we were told our mobile fones contained more technology than the first moon landings then the same people tell us they have lost the technology to do a moon landing either way they need to get better at telling lies .. that is all 😂

The "lost the technology" quote that is punted around ad nauseum is, as usual, an incomplete, inaccurate and insane "justification" for deciding that Mankind has never ventured above low Earth orbit.

When the NASA guy said they had "lost the technology", he was specifically referring to the Apollo hardware - the spacecraft, computers and experience in manufacturing and employing Apollo hardware. That wasn't maintained - it was abandoned.

To say that the whole concept of space travel, orbital calculations and the technologies involved have been lost is a lot like saying that Mankind lost the ability to manufacture motorcycles when Matchless folded.

I am so weary of this bollocks, I truly am. Prove that Mankind never has ventured above LEO... but quit with the BS logic, wanky "science" and out-of-context quotes, yeah? Do the serious work and leave Facebook and the rest to talk shite. (Not directed at anyone in particular, this is for everyone in particular.)

The answers are in your post, you’re just choosing to disregard them.

You know what, me neither! What they have done is seriously impressive but in my opinion they should spend the resources making things better on this planet. Mars has its own problems! Population control and less toxic products would be a great start…

Why the either/or approach?

Mars colonisation, decent food and every other thing we'd like to see would all be financially achievable with the judicious application of Lamppost Doctrine, with corrupt politicians and other "public servants" having lampposts named after them by the tens of thousands.

It's not like we would see anything done to better our lives if only we didn't "waste money on space and other research / civilisational goals".
Space programs are not the reason why people are hungry / poor / unwell etc.

I have never had any great interest in other people's achievements unless they improve my life, the amount of bollocks and money invested in these programs always baffled me but I have mates who absolutely follow this stuff start to finish.. when im being Guinnessish I like to throw in its all faked anyway just to spice things up 😆 truth is ive never cared enough to look properly it just looks pretty sketcy for those devices to have done what they said but that's all it is .. my bolloxolegy opinion 🤔

I'm not trying to suggest that not having a space program would solve any world problems we have down here. Sending Trump and some of his admin to deep space would tho. And a nice explosion out there would make me happy too!
Red Dwarf is still the best thing to come from space

Red Dwarf was proper shite IMO although I managed to watch one episode which I found wildly hilarious. There again Craig Charles took a back seat in that one, IIRC, so maybe that tells me something. I believe it had Rik Mayall in it. Edit: Or maybe it was Chris Barrie in a dual role. I forget now.

Why specifically do you mention Trump and his admin? Do you believe that they are in some way worse than previous (and future, I've no doubt) admins?

What about the current crop of US Senators and Congressmen? I'd argue that they represent a civilisational catastrophe, the kind that only Trump could dream of being.
Of course, I have followed US politics more closely than many on here - mainly because Britain's future lies downstream of what happens in the US, so naturally I like to get some sort of warning of just how shit it's likely to get here.
