A bloke at the end of our road has one of them and a Vespa, he used to have a 996s that he did track days on. He goes all over Europe doing track days. I want to get something at some point just for riding in all weathers and not really worry about it. (y)
Get a monster 620ie .
Bland and under powered engine but cheap, lite, nimble and good ( if very ugly) mirrors. Great commuter bike. And not ugly iffa ya like monsters...

Good call, my son nearly bought one for his first big bike but he got a 650 Bandit in the end. I'll have a look on Ebay to get what the price range is, the prices of some bikes have gone fucking crazy, 250 Superdreams going for 4-5K, back in 1991 a mate of mine gave me one to smoke about on. :)

Yamaha tdm 900. A bit more upright so might help a bit with the pressure on the wrist. Cheap to buy and maintain and plenty enough of them around
So i have heard very reliable, i've been looking since i got my insurance money, i had to get a new lid and got another Dainese leather jacket and motorcycle jeans, bargain price for the jeans 110 quid for two pairs from Ghostbikes they were half price so rude not too. Most bikes are just a little out of my price range at the moment but something always turns up in the end. (y)

Had a 620ie for my all weather hack for a few years. Suffered from quite a bit of corrosion, that was there when I bought it and didn't get much worse as, unlike the previous owner, I did mantainace..
It didn't miss a beat and so easy to ride. Unusually for a ducati, it also had a great turning circle.
Nice upright riding position and quite high bars made it real easy to jump on and off and zero wrist pain.
Like I said, bit of a bland engine for a v twin but it was only little.. I'd buy another any time if I needed a commuter or town hack. Pretty good on gas too...

Never been a fan of the Monster range but that sounds like what i'm after, low power doesn't matter and the fact it is basically the same engine as the 900ie i would know my way around it for maintainence etc. Going to the shops on a 996 is just a little excessive to say the least!! :)

The lower power didn't make it not fun, my mate I bought it off had a 749 and over a 20 mile blast I beat him to the pub. He was real pissed of!!! I got the jump on him in traffic and kept it pinned to the stop the whole way.. its one of those bikes that doesn't feel (isn’t) exceptionally fast but handles so well in the tight stuff, you don't have to button off.

It's not always about power. (y)

Less to do with the bike, and more to do with your desire to get to the pub, Piss 'Ed ! 🤔
