An acquaintance of Sally`s got in touch last week as she had rescued a young horse from the well respected travelling community and was looking for a temporary home. The poor thing was very underweight, riddled with worms, covered in lice and terrified of adults, men in particular.
We had a brief chat and Sally suggested we take it for a couple of months while we have space with her big horse and the 2 Munchkin ponies all out on livery . The idea she told me was just to treat it for the worms and lice, feed it properly , spend time with it so it became less scared of people and then find a suitable home. It`s the ideal size for young children of about 6-10 to ride. What a coincidence that we have a horse mad 6 year old grand daughter ....
Currently called Murphy but Sally`s keen to change his name. I have suggested Pikey Mikey as an homage to Brad Pitt`s finest hour but strangely that was not well received. Here he is on his own and then 3 days later with Sally and 2 of the grandchildren with him already showing a massive improvement in confidence.
