Great biking roads around there.
Had some good rides round there. Once in a storm me and a mate took the track from the A68 to the top of the resevoir - about 12km - I was on a Multi 1200. Parts of the track were washed away.
Washing the bike today. Took a trip through Weardale to Alston yesterday evening, then up and over Hartside, back to Alston and home the other way through Teesdale and over the top to Stanhope. I do like the road through Teesdale in the evening. Didn't ride it much last years as they did a lot of surface dressing coming out of Alston and it was about two inches deep in loose chippings for months.
All clean now and I had the road to myself.
Still a lot of salt on the road though. Bone dry, just dust, but the bike has a white coating so it'll get a proper wash this afternoon.

Mine too. Much more fun than the Weardale road - although that has it's good bits. I prefer riding the Teesdale road west to east. It is quite bumpy though with a few spine crushing slumps. The Diavel copes with it very well. Doesn't glide over the bumps the way my KTM 1190 will but it's much better than my old 1290 SDR which was constantly jarring my vision and kicking me out of the seat.Alston to Teesdale is one of my favourite roads
It surprises me how good the Diavel is over nadgery moorland roads. I'm glad I bought an S with Ohlins.

Those bendas are actually not a terrible looking bike .. not my cuppa but I can see the appeal to some degree...

The 1260 Diavel is probably the best Ducati I've owned. They're a cracking all-round bike. If you like Monsters but you're not a Hobbit and so find them a bit cramped, the 1260 Diavel is the answer. More punch, more room but ace handling.
I cycled to work today for the first time this year

I do indeed we used to picnic there The young farmers called it Guinness Mountain, presumably because the beech wood on the top resembled the froth- but I don't know for sure.
Been learning all about Reg/Rec's - taken it on the chin and ordered 4 for each of my bikes as theyre all lithium laden now...

I truly feel for you. Just went thru this with my mom, she was 77 when she passed in late Feburary. She was nonviolent until the last year. She tried to punch the medical responders when we needed ambulance to get her to hospital. Very disturbing to see someone you know change, not physically so much, but mental breakdown and the anger. Now my dad is alone and I think it is accelerating the alheimers for him and he refuses to leave the home he and mom have had for nearly 50 years. He is now refusing to get his physical issues fixed(been using a cathator to piss since Xmas. He is obsessed in cleaning and throwing everything he does not immediately need/use so my sister and I dont have to do it once he is gone. The disease effects each person a little different. Stay strong and dont be afraid to ask for help if neededSaw dad today and we think we might finally have a nursing home to put him in. The delay has been social services and a "panel" to decide if my dad who joined the armed forces at 15, then when he left he went straight into work and then worked into his early 70's", can be placed into a home they reccomended, if their budget allows it. If yes, he might finally be out on or just after the 13th
Sadly his dementia is showing more and it's one I'm sure some of you may have seen if in this position. I've seen quite a few friends have very placid parents do this. On the days when the dementia takes over they become quite aggressive in both tone and movement. He's not hit anyone yet but it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine him doing it on the worst of dementia days. Thankfully although he is going down hill, we still have more good dad days than angry dad days.
He's still a fucking arsehole though. Just as he's walking me towards the unit's exit door, out loud he says "I can't get an erection anymore, you think they have any pills for that?"
