You need to drink them in a room with a peat fire burning, double doseMe neither, horrible antiseptic taste.
The ones i like are described by The Trouble as dirty, woody and smokey. Sounds about right.
I first tried Ardbeg a few years ago on the Isle of Harris. Lots of people still burned peat then and the scent of it was in the air everywhere you went, summer and winter. As soon as I open a bottle of Ardbeg that's exactly the smell I get. Takes me right back to Harris every time. I always buy a bottle at Christmas. You need to drink them in a room with a peat fire burning, double dose![]()

To be honest, it tastes like honey and lemon, with a kick. Nice, I think it’ll grow on me the further down the Largs portion I’ve poured

I'm trying to reduce my overall alcohol intake. With the long drink I'm down to between 14 and 21 units a week now.Sacrilege, even for cheap whisky - get some stones green ginger wine and mix it 50:50 and stop being a tart![]()
