Project Superspurt

Stunning piece of work all around, front end looks awesome!

I didn't have to mod the air box at all for my FCR's but they did come from a y*m*ha twin.
The position of the cable stops was just right. Split singles next however :D

So it's finally seen the light of day :)
Looking great Lindsay. I see you still have to fit the throttle cables before you can fire it up. Looks like I should be able to hear it fae Farfur? :D

could probably do with a twist grip too.............and some coils...........and cans.............and clocks.............. :)

was there much modding needing done to use the std filter box along with the FCR's?

Just the cutting away that you see round the cable bracket, the cables come off at 90deg but I still need to cut some more airbox off.

Hope ye are fitting loud noislisers!

LOL - you might need to help me make them :D That's the next job. I have short high level pipes and long low level pipes so hoping to make long high level pipes with a carbon re-sleeve.

What bits and pieces do you need?

Carbon sleeve 2x 96mm ID x 390mm and enough wadding for 2x pipe fills. They seem to have that. Thought I would neet rivet straps too but the old ones are OK. Hopefully when I strip the other pipe they will come off OK (not too much rivet head spinning) too. Also thought I would need some sort of hanger, but I have a cunning plan. Can I distract you from micro brewery building for 30 mins next Thursday afternoon?

As well as the bracketry cunning plan could you weld high level link pipe (top left) to end piece (bottom centre) x2?

I can leave everything with you to do when you are quieter, I have plenty other stuff to get on with. :D

I can supply you the wadding if I remember correctly it takes a mtr long x the length but also comes along with some stainless steel wool,if you wrap the perf tube first with the wool the wadding will last a lot longer.

Thursday, as long as you arrive early enough I have to finish for 4.30 on Thursdays at the latest to feed the kids then get them off for swimming lessons.

Cheers - I'll just order up the carbon sleeves then :thumbs: Next Thursday I will wake up in Glasgow then taking pals to Edinburgh airport for (I think) late morning. Will txt / call you when I'm leaving the airport to confirm all is OK. :thanks3:

I went to see Sam as planned on Thursday. It's been said before, but what a setup! I can dream of getting all the kit if my Lotto numbers come up, but money can't buy the skill and experience to be found at Pyatshaw :cool:

He ended up cutting the cap off the Ducati high level link pipe and the spigot bit from the BOS link pipe and welded the two so that the high level link pipe now fits straight in to the BOS exhaust :thumbs:

They then got a run across a Scotchbrite mop for a lovely satin finish;

Also in the box are a couple of curved plates with captive nuts that will be glued inside the cans to mount the hangers and the makings of a couple of hangers.

When I got back there was a parcel from PJ Engineering;

I finished off the hanger mounts on the dolly;

(not the best photo :o)

Cheers again Sam for the great work and the (unexpected) 'while-u-wait' service. very much appreciated. :thanks1:

Wilbers Type 640 - Available from David at SoloCorse who is also Nogaromill99 on the 'UK' forum and part of the MotoRapido BSB Team. You need to 'fess up to your weight, bikes weight, riding style etc and give him a wad of cash and it arrives 2 weeks later set up just for you!

David disappeared from circulation a few months ago. There were various rumours; breakdown (his mother had recently died, he had lost the BSB gig), move to Australia (he had spent time there before), prison (seemed jokey - haha maybe he is prison). Anyway, just saw this on the UK forum. I feel sick. Going to throw up sick.

Sorry to anyone who took me up on my recommendation of him.

Got to agree Pete... You're original post would seem to have disappeared!!

Are we being watched by MI 5??

No, MI2.5

The original thread has been re-instated but locked. Anyone who wants more detail or to discuss it can view the thread on ducatiforum or do it by PM.

Given the recent case involving Twitter and a certain Lord, I don't want to be up till 2 every morning checking the forum in case anyone has said anything unsubstantiated. The facts are there in Pete's link, and in the reporting of the case.

As Pete's thread is locked, I would rather that discussion on the subject is not carried on through this thread. My reason for posting the details here was that this is the thread that I made the reference to David and his business so thought it should be here that I disassociate myself and give the reason why. As Miles and Pete have said, it's all over on ducatiforum.

I'll see if I can drag myself to the garage tomorrow and get the thread back on topic.

Don't blame you Miles..

"David and his business" - sounds a bit grand. For a convicted predator of children. Who has been lurking on here for 5 years. Sorry but it had to be said. The guy has been rightly convicted of the offence. I shall say nothing further.

Good thread BTW, keep it rolling. :)
