Kawasaki KR1000 Endurance Replica

The Manchester Kickback show is on in April this year, on the weekend of the 8th & 9th.

They are looking for entrants & I've pinched this picture off their website as a bit of an incentive for Exi to get his finger out !!

Nah silly 🤪 and it won't be a show bike :)

I've entered my old nail, just because it goes to an odd show or two doesn't mean it's a "show bike" !! At least mine has some miles under it's belt, all your's seems to do is get shown on this forum !! :ROFLMAO:
Hang on, does that mean it's a "show bike" ? :censored:

Indeed, I only have 3 on the road every year, but 4 when this is done - you can only ride 1 at a time and it would be financial suicide to run more - no show bikes here apart from my own personal viewing every time I make a cuppa :coffee: life it good
More will see it out and about than would see it at shows, unlike yours, happy vanning to the show though :)(y)

Oh, just a thought, are you getting me mixed up with Robs 'Polishing Emporium' perhaps 🤣🤣🤣

It will only go in the van if the weather is s**t, a short rear mudguard & no front mudguard don't make for pleasant riding !!
The days of riding in the rain are over for me. If my old nail gets accepted it will only be the second show it's ever been to in it's five years of life & most likely will be the last one, at least while in my ownership anyway. That's my "Book of Excuses" done :ROFLMAO:

I don't need excuses, if cornered just lie 😇

I often wonder how many of the 45 Tesi Final Editions are on the road like mine is though

Clutch stripped out, all the steel pressure plates were like new thankfully so I could get the APE extra plate heavy duty clutch fitted today :)

And casing back on to check the alignment for the first time which was a bit nerve wracking, but all cock on 🥵

Ground the stop off the worm drive assembly as it's in the way of the shaft seal for the new clutch puller pin and the treads drilled out for clearance for the bolt which will attach the internal mechanism to the worm drive. Just waiting for my mate Mark to pop round at the weekend who will be machining the 3 slots in the shaft for the grub screw locking locations.

My clutch puller pin has gone on holiday to have it's 3 dimples machined in for locking it off on assembly.

I ordered some folding Brembo Levers today for the radial m/s and RSV-4 cable clutch perch.

Today I set about cleaning the front callipers, pulling each opposing piston nearly fully out to make sure it was spotless. I was going to order some new EBC pads @ £80 but the Brembo pads fitted only had 1mm of wear so cleaned them too and refitted.

My folding Brembo brake lever came today so I swapped it onto the new radial Master Cylinder I purchased many moons ago.

Feck me - I've never changed one of these before but why do they make it so fiddly! I had to grind a 1.8mm watch makers screwdriver down to about 1.5mm to get the adjuster knob retaining pin out 🤷‍♂️

While rolling around on the floor fighting the lever I spotted a good angle for a photo :)

That spurred me on to think about fabricating a lower Clutch Cable adjuster bracket and cancel the decorating I was planning

Found a bit of Stainless which is a bit better than aluminium for this bracket to ensure no flex...

Where's the best place to order a bespoke Clutch Cable, anyone know?

Got it roughed out and trial fitted -just final shaping and finishing to go. Everything seems to line up cock on thankfully 🥵

I used a few Heath Robinson methods to bend the cable adjuster holder, doing the final slotted tube shape with a 6mm threaded rod then cutting it away afterwards.

I've ordered their Universal Kit, much cheaper and less hassle than a bespoke one - and I can make sure it's cock-on too :)(y)
I had to get a universal kit fucking ages ago, 1992 i think, i can't even remember who from, but well handy.
I had a Z550 and the fucking throttle cable snaped and it came well in handy, i also snapped the clutch cable on that thing and had to ride it home on the starter motor when getting going and slotting the gears in slowly, luckily i wasn't to far from home. :)

They used to be sold as get you home kits like @WAYNE said I always found them ok in an emergency
but difficult to make a permanent neat fix that would hold for Any length of time

When i got one it was just that not permanent, the thing is things have moved on so perhaps they are a much better product now.
Edit: 1992 when i got mine.

Yup the clutch one I bought around 1992 ish , only way I got home was to wrap it back on it self and clamp it
later at home I found it impossible to splay the end of the cable and solder it
it would make a good template tho

Yeh, soldering is witchcraft - but I'll set it and get my mate to do it who's done hundreds in his time (y)

It’s the bending/ spreading the cable that gives it strength, that’s the hard bit
especially if you want it to look neat
He has everything for the job, and a Dyno too which will be needed next year
