The Manchester Kickback show is on in April this year, on the weekend of the 8th & 9th.
They are looking for entrants & I've pinched this picture off their website as a bit of an incentive for Exi to get his finger out !!

Indeed, I only have 3 on the road every year, but 4 when this is done - you can only ride 1 at a time and it would be financial suicide to run more - no show bikes here apart from my own personal viewing every time I make a cuppaI've entered my old nail, just because it goes to an odd show or two doesn't mean it's a "show bike" !! At least mine has some miles under it's belt, all your's seems to do is get shown on this forum !!
Hang on, does that mean it's a "show bike" ?![]()
Oh, just a thought, are you getting me mixed up with Robs 'Polishing Emporium' perhapsI've entered my old nail, just because it goes to an odd show or two doesn't mean it's a "show bike" !! At least mine has some miles under it's belt, all your's seems to do is get shown on this forum !!

It will only go in the van if the weather is s**t, a short rear mudguard & no front mudguard don't make for pleasant riding !!Indeed, I only have 3 on the road every year, but 4 when this is done - you can only ride 1 at a time and it would be financial suicide to run more - no show bikes here apart from my own personal viewing every time I make a cuppalife it good
More will see it out and about than would see it at shows, unlike yours, happy vanning to the show though![]()
I don't need excuses, if cornered just lieIt will only go in the van if the weather is s**t, a short rear mudguard & no front mudguard don't make for pleasant riding !!
The days of riding in the rain are over for me. If my old nail gets accepted it will only be the second show it's ever been to in it's five years of life & most likely will be the last one, at least while in my ownership anyway. That's my "Book of Excuses" done![]()
How many of those budgies do you ride? Can a lounge carpet or kitchen lino really be considered "road" though?![]()
Wish granted, you freak! How many of those budgies do you ride?oh, please don’t answer that

That spurred me on to think about fabricating a lower Clutch Cable adjuster bracket and cancel the decorating I was planning
Found a bit of Stainless which is a bit better than aluminium for this bracket to ensure no flex...
Where's the best place to order a bespoke Clutch Cable, anyone know?
Got it roughed out and trial fitted -just final shaping and finishing to go. Everything seems to line up cock on thankfully
I used a few Heath Robinson methods to bend the cable adjuster holder, doing the final slotted tube shape with a 6mm threaded rod then cutting it away afterwards.

They used to be sold as get you home kits like @WAYNE said I always found them ok in an emergencyI've ordered their Universal Kit, much cheaper and less hassle than a bespoke one - and I can make sure it's cock-on too![]()
When i got one it was just that not permanent, the thing is things have moved on so perhaps they are a much better product now. They used to be sold as get you home kits like @WAYNE said I always found them ok in an emergency
but difficult to make a permanent neat fix that would hold for Any length of time
Yup the clutch one I bought around 1992 ish , only way I got home was to wrap it back on it self and clamp itWhen i got one it was just that not permanent, the thing is things have moved on so perhaps they are a much better product now.
Edit: 1992 when i got mine.
Yeh, soldering is witchcraft - but I'll set it and get my mate to do it who's done hundreds in his timeYup the clutch one I bought around 1992 ish , only way I got home was to wrap it back on it self and clamp it
later at home I found it impossible to splay the end of the cable and solder it
it would make a good template tho
It’s the bending/ spreading the cable that gives it strength, that’s the hard bitYeh, soldering is witchcraft - but I'll set it and get my mate to do it who's done hundreds in his time![]()
He has everything for the job, and a Dyno too which will be needed next yearIt’s the bending/ spreading the cable that gives it strength, that’s the hard bit
especially if you want it to look neat
