Big space to work with Chiz, so load bearing walls ?5.45 and ive just finished for the day.. almost.. dropped b at the bub 20 mins ago, prepped dinner and have a few more wheel barrow loads of timber to burn.
I've had the fire going for six hours solid! Amazing how much timber is in a small area..
Anyhu it's largely opened up.
We have 43m2 in this area now minus 2.4 x 3.2 for the bathroom leaves 35 ish for kitchen/dinner and living room. Pretty good i think..

What are they? Lol.. yea, there was a spine wall mid span running the length of the house. I've removed a section of that and will be installing a beam in its place. The beam is only spanning 3.3 mtrs and carrys nothing other than the ceiling joists/weight of the plasterboard and the roof ridge was propped off or it. It's a lightweight iron roof coming in at around 5kg per m2 plus rafters ect . No snow load here as it doesn't.. gunna put in a double 8x2Big space to work with Chiz, so load bearing walls ?
This is also why there are a few sticks of timber remaining mid span. Im gunna drop the ceilings and put ties between the rafters before I remove those! Honestly though, it's such a small structure/roof i can't see it going anywhere. I've built roofs with a larger span in the uk that were slate tiled and had no ceiling ties or propped ridge, the only detail was brackets from rafters to ridge.. I didn't like it but it passed muster ...Big space to work with Chiz, so load bearing walls ?
