Is that a switch that’s burnt out ?
I assume you are going to replace it. If so you have a photo of how the wires go, so just makes sure it’s isolated before you do.
Thanks Al - yes it burnt - pic from the other side below.
Is that right to have two earths into one connection?

It's fucked. I'll give you a grand for it, spares or repair.I tried to find out why the ABS light is on on my bike, but the OBD just just came back with 1 fault without detailing what the fault is.
So I cleared it because one cause can be running the bike in gear while it’s on a stand, which I did before my last ride.
Went for a run to see it it came back on…and it did. Or rather it didn’t go out which it’s supposed to do when you go over 7mph. So I’m no wiser and will need to get it booked in.
That'll polish out mateThanks Al - yes it burnt - pic from the other side below.

This getting rid of a body thing…? Asking for a friend(ex)My boiler’s off - as our boiler expert Perry isn’t about to lend his expertise, and bear in mind I have zero handyman skills (unless you need to get rid of a body)…would you risk rewiring this or should I get an electrician?
There is a boost switch which I had used that I think lead to this blowing
The photo has turned 90 degrees, like they sometimes do on here!

As Alan says, no need to get an electrician out for that job just replace the fused switch unit, simples. My boiler’s off - as our boiler expert Perry isn’t about to lend his expertise, and bear in mind I have zero handyman skills (unless you need to get rid of a body)…would you risk rewiring this or should I get an electrician?

Looks like a double pole switch which I believe is required for a boiler, I would imagine there are two earths so each side of the switch is always correctly earthed. The flex going out from the switch to the boiler looks quite old, it should be a heat resistant type and where it passes through the backing box there should be a rubber gromit quite quick and easy to do while replacing the switch. I'm not a "sparky" and any observations should be verified by an appropriately qualified person before carrying out any work.My boiler’s off - as our boiler expert Perry isn’t about to lend his expertise, and bear in mind I have zero handyman skills (unless you need to get rid of a body)…would you risk rewiring this or should I get an electrician?

Picture number 4 you can see the hole (which is at the bottom) but it soon gets blocked with grit, straw, mud etc. Dorset roads are 'rural'.Do you have a hole in the bottom to let the water out?

Good to see you finally coming OUT .. you be all you can be champYesterday i bought a Harley, it's an 883cc with a top end 1200cc conversion, it's had a shit load of money spent on it and got a great deal for the 996!! I want to move away from Ducati for a bit and wait to see when the Asda payout get's sorted. It's coming on for 15 years ffs and for some reason i'm drawn to a 1098 Streetfighter. The Harley has a 12 month MOT and they paid me some cash!! I wasn't going to let that go for silly money, i bought it from a shop that is part of the Crescent group that was Crescent Suzuki in Motogp!!
I want to black out the white walls, not my cup of tea and there are some other bits i want to sort, it's fucking loud as fuck and they gave an advisory for loud pipes.
No big deal i've been going on for loud pipe advisories for years, a change is as good as a rest and all that!! Tomorrow i will be sorting thing's out on it that appeals to me as in get rid of some of the bling!!
The other thing is all the Ducati spares that i changed for carbon fibre on the 996 are going on ebay and more than likely on here!!
Roll on the summer when i can slip into some leather chaps and picture YMCA being sung, bring it on!!
The guy who had it first spent a fucking fortune on it, it has a stage 1 upgrade by Two Brothers racing and apparently runs realy well for power, the last time i rode the 996 was from Prescot hill climb event and found myself riding like a fucking crazy man and i don't want that anymore, the other reason i sold the 996 was i just don't want to treat it like a fucking three year old child with constant attention. Anyway this is how it is and long live the king the king is dead!!
