What have you done on your bike today?

The 2026 Ducati Desmo450 MX has a claimed wet weight (without fuel) of 104.8 kg (231 lbs). This lightweight, 449.6 cc machine features a Desmodromic engine producing 63.5 hp.

Those are both non road legal motor cross bikes right? I need to be able to ride on the highway to where ever the track is. Remember, NZ is a big place and there are great roads for off-road riding all over…
Thanks tho, very sweet of you to be thinking of me!

Anyway, today we rode to a place called Pipiriki on the Whanganui river and we did a35km Jet boat ride upstream to a bridge that was built in 1936 to serve a community that was allotted land after the Great War. The men fought hard to clear it, in intensely steep terrain and after about 25 years, all had left as it was too inhospitable to live there. The bridge is called the bridge to nowhere and is the sister bridge to one I visited yesterday. That one is called the bridge to somewhere. Originally they were to be linked by a massive bridge over the Whanganui river but it just never happened…

You can put anything on the road here with an SVA approval - maybe not there though 😔

Not sat on either bike for months. For the 1st time I'm worried about the e10 in the tanks and I didn't add anything pre winter cause I usually ride through it. Uhg. Saturday's spoda b nice out and I'll be starting them. Any recommendations/thoughts before I do?

Too late the damage is done!

I hope you'll be OK just burn as much of the E10 crap before refuelling with proper gas.

Look into the fuel tanks and see how clean it looks, imo it should be ok then top up with E5 and fire them up!! Make sure the batteries have maximum charge and i think things will be ok.:)

Today i had a very short ride on the Harley as it's a nice day, the reason i had a short ride is i'm fucking unfit!!:( That's what sitting on your arse for 7 months does, no strength.
It's happened to me a few times in the past so get the weights out, the Harley pulls like a fucking train, took me by surprise!! Last night i went through the service history and found the paper work for the fitting of the 1250cc top end change.
Result as Crescent said it had a 1200cc top end, it's meant to be a better day tomorrow but i can wait a bit to get my body fit.:)

Well that's obvious dude, you've been forgetting to change hands at 99, now all you're fit for it is riding round roundabouts :D

My son swapped his days off round so that we could go on a jolly today. Last night he said "my bike has run out of MoT" as though it was his bikes fault. Anyway I let him take the Multi and I took the CCM.
First stop Bristol to find him some more bike gloves. My daughter suggested we went via Cheddar Gorge. The road was shut. I tried a detour but ended up in Wells (home of 'Hot Fuzz' so back tracked and headed straight for Bristol. Son leading as he had the sat nav. Blooy thing took us through the centre. when we finally got to the Sportsbike shop they didn't have anything big enough in stock!
By this time we were running behind schedule so skipped lunch and headed for Williams Caterham near the delightfully named Old Sodbury.
My intention was to buy a Caterham kit minus the engine and build it installing my spare 1260s engine. They only sell the complete kit. So time for a rethink.
We were shown around their stock which included Caterhams, Morgans, An Atom and a couple of new Nortons. Then for a pleasant ride home in the sunshine on the Bath road.

Went to my storage unit to change the battery on the Ducati - spent an hour getting the left hand fairing off - I’ve bought the wrong fecking battery 🙄
Took some fresh fuel to put in too but the cap won’t open. Sprayed some oil in the key slot. Locked it up and fucked off. Come home and ordered another battery.

I struggled to get my feet on the ground on the new bike which was unnerving due to its size. The seat is adjustable and already on the lowest setting. I ordered a seat off e Bay. Intention was to take it to a local motorcycle seat upholsterer and get it cut down
It came the next day. Its already cut down which is win.

Much better when all you need to do to access the battery is lift the seat. Why do the designers make it so difficult in some bikes?

I have to get the battery off the Harley that i know nothing about. Been on youtube and manual and it looks to be a right faff, my old 900ie lift the tank put the little bar down to hold it up and everything is there. Air filter box and battery, a minute to take off if that.:)
