What the feck have you done today?

Sitting in ED. My grand daughter told me off for playing with knives. Was Stanley knife with a brand new blade. Severed a tendon.
This little piggy had none, has gone into limp mode

Accident # 10078. Is that how many Accidents you have had? Are you related to wayne by chance? Looks ouch! Did it hurt more than that time you put the saber saw though your hand? You handled that pretty well but it looked painfull...

Lols, no it wasn't sore. I am not particularly accident prone but fate will send you to ED to humble you in front of people with proper problems. Like purple immobile leg guy. Intestinal agony babe. And screaming infant with scared mother. I just sat there hoping they were getting the attention they deserve. Me, I just had a bit of a stabby hole and a severed tendon. And I brought them both home with me. The consensus was to leave the droopy toe with it's 20% function , and don't be a big sooky about the hole in your foot. So, Jo bought me a donut on the way home, ate half of it and then fucked off and left me exhausted and starving in front of the telly. Well, not starving really, I could probably go a day or two on stored body fat before things got antsy.
I was lucky with the sabre saw hole. I think all that plasterboard dust really helped.

Thought for Today

Tried to sharpen my Denby kitchen knife on a Lansky.

It's ok. Better than it was but not as shave sharp as I'd like. Works great on my smaller knives but I don't think it's really suitable for a blade of this size.
Have put my Japanese water stones in to soak and will have a go with those later. Hope I don't make it worse..

Spent the weekend rewiring most of the lights in the kitchen and adding some....went from old swtichy off and on to smarty pants ones....quite pleased with myself as its all actually working....the only down side is im using an aftermarket server to control them as ive got smart stuff from about 10 different manufacturers (or something like that) so it all seems to be hanging together!!

I always feel guilty about putting our staffy in kennels, (twice this year so far), so I try to take her away to the UK with me and Elsie once in a while.

Today, I've booked us into a Northallerton Hotel for 3 nights in July, so we can have trips to Whitby, Ripon, Thirsk and Richmond.

When you consider the hotel charges £15 per night for the dog, that's the same price as the kennels.

£15 a night is cheaper than most kennels.

Have you thought about identifying as a dog 👍

Another money saving tip:
A friend of mine is struggling to find anyone to look after his dog when he goes on holiday. Kennel fees will cost more than his flight. As it's a small crosse-breed I've suggested he might consider shooting it and buying a new one when he gets home. He agrees that this could well be a cost effective option.

Get a buddy to hand the dog in at a police station saying it's a stray. You go on holiday, come back and report your dog has gone missing and after 7/10/14 days looking and not finding it, you thought it best to report it to police.

Obviously don't do this if your dog is chipped, that would be stupid

Or you could just buy another bike instead of a dog. A bike don't need feeding when you go on holiday and it won't have shat all over the floor when you get back. Unless it's an Enfield, obviously.

Ai came to visit my today for the first time ever...i work in IT (have done for the last 30 years) and managed to avoid it like the plague, even to to the point my boss created an "Ai challenge" where we had to create an ai something to help day to day stuff....ive just not replied...! not a fucking clue how to use it....and im not interested either....why would i want to become lazier....at my point in life i need more than ever to learn stuff...anyway i picked up a ticket this morning message the guy, some sort of auth/ssh cert issue with a repo he replied...dont worry claude fixed it for me....im just waiting for the axe to fall now - hopefully when that happens ill still have some pension left when it does...!

Yeah - ironically im fucking shit with anything scripty....my head doesnt work that way....i can read powershell stuff for example and see what someone has done and modify but if you asked me to create something from scratch...not a fucking clue....i managed to run a national exchange network back when they were on site for about 15 years (with 99% uptime) by running 80% gui and 20% plagiarized exchange powershell commands that i used to keep in a file with a lamens term for what they did.....
