My mistake, yep 600,000 L/day, still not much, at work we take up to 14,000,000 L/day with no appreciable effect to the aquifer. Water is something we are usually not short of here. At work we have over 25 years of data from upstream and downstream bore monitoring to back that up.

The four largest dairy factories in the world are all in NZ, we only use 3% of what we produce domestically, the rest is exported, we are the largest dairy exporter in the world but only the 14th largest producer of dairy products. India is the largest producer.
