I get free prescriptions because i'm on Levothyroxine for my thyroid. It's good to share these experiences. Like you, I'm on the blood thinner tablets, and Atrial Fibrillation tablets, probably until I pop my clogs.
The worst thing is being advised not to take alcohol or grapefruit/citrus, having swollen ankles/feet, and the thought of travel insurance shooting up in price like diesel.
The good things are (for me) - free prescriptions
That's a sex change hormone isn't it?I get free prescriptions because i'm on Levothyroxine for my thyroid.
Amazing result considering how wrong things could have wentI think I've probably told the story but I'll tell it again as it might help someone on here in the future.
A couple of days before the trackday I was out walking the dog and was going up a small hill. I've done this walk hundreds of times but this time I had to stop halfway for a rest as I came over really tired. I didn't think much of it and thought I was probably a bit off that day. I was in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal so a good job it didn't get worse.
At the trackday I did the first session but had to come in early as I felt physically tired. I sat down and had a dull ache down my left arm. I drank some water and the ache/pain went away and I put it down to not being bike fit.
I did the second session and I had to come in early again feeling really physically tired. The ache/pain returned in my left arm but this time it wouldn't go away and I began to feel really under the weather.
I was not far from the medical centre so I had a walk up to see if I could get some help. I couldn't raise anybody there so I walked back down to the garages and as I got there one of the staff came through the garage with a walkie talkie in his hand.
I explained what was going on and he walked me back to the medical centre. By the time we got there, not far, I was really deteriorating and had to sit on the bench outside. We still couldn't raise anyone so he called an ambulance off the track.
The two paramedics took me into the medical centre and hooked me up for an ECG. The paramedic looked at the machine and then at me and said mate you're having a heart attack. I was like, seriously? He said yes mate we're off to Derby Royal under blues and twos.
I asked if we could stop off at my pit garage and pick up my phone, wallet etc and he said 'No mate the first hour is critical and they will be waiting to operate when we arrive.' When we arrived at the hospital they were waiting for us with a trolley outside. They moved me off the ambulance trolley onto the hospital trolley and wheeled me straight down the corridor into theatre.
The paramedic came in with me as I had asked him to remove my boots and leathers and promise not to let them cut them off. Within 5 minutes they were inserting the stents through my wrist.
Once I was out of theatre and in my own private room they brought me a telephone so I could sort my stuff out. One of my mates fetched my bike and box trailer and drove my van home. MSV had packed all my stuff up and loaded it away which was very impressive.
I was in hospital a couple of days and then I was sent home with a fist full of tablets that I'm supposed to take every day for the rest of my life.

My eldest is pregnant as well, due in April.Congratulations.
That's your pension spent.
Not sure if I mentioned this before, but if you suffer a bereavement and there are no pre-arranged funeral arrangements, if you ring the Co-op (Funerals, not Supermarkets) and tell them you would like a quote for a funeral, they give you a cheaper price than if you phone up and say "I want you to make arrangements for Great Uncle Bert"
Mamas and Papas (not the band) have a factory shop on the outskirts of Huddersfield, a couple of miles from the Brighouse junction (25) of the M62My eldest is pregnant as well, due in April.
She rang me tonight to tell me that the pram ensemble she has ordered has been reduced from £1800 to £1400.
I think that’s a hint that I’m £400 better off!

I only wear Bridgedale Socks, quality stuff, some are 20 years old, still fine, go in the dryer too.I can get five years out of Tesco socks and boxers (Morrisons ones are better but you have to remove the scratchy label from the boxers).
If your socks are only lasting a year, have you considered clipping your toenails occasionally?
