Diet

Yummy. Not always easy to find - need a nice long slow cook
A local butcher used to sell pork cheeks. They were amazingly good , every mouthful felt like an explosion of flavour. Sadly they`ve stopped doing them. I suppose I could get them online but I`d much prefer to buy from a butcher.

My local The French Horn The French Horn Steppingley

They currently have braised ox cheeks in treacle gravy with roast veg and horseradish mash on the menu. Delicious. I`d never had ox cheeks before, who knew they could be so tasty ?
Probably our in house ex butcher and dedicated carnivore @Dox

They're not easy to get hold of as heads are usually dealt with at an abbatoir and often will end up lumped together with trimmings - the cheeks need to be ordered specially.

Plenty of flavour, but as @Char said, they need plenty of cooking.

We used to buy in tons of pig heads extra to the ones on the pigs we bought, for boning out, and it went into sausage meat. It would be the last job of the day, about 8 of us round a block boning out heads. I sometimes miss those days.

Why cutting out butter and cheese may be pointless for millions

"For decades, saturated fats, which are naturally present in red meat and dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt, have gained a reputation as dietary villains."

'Decades'.....but for millenia animal fats were highly prized and known to be essential. Those 'decades' came with the processed food industry, closely followed by the obesity and dementia pandemics.

Unfortunately i can't eat cheese, well i can but it gives me severe migraines along with chocolate and coffee. I can't stand coffee and don't miss eating chocolate but cheese is a right bummer as i loved stilton when i was younger. The allergies started at 16 years old:rolleyes:, but i do love a good quality butter by the shit load on nice crispy bread.:)

"They have been linked to clogged arteries"

Can someone please tell me how this works?

Does it go a different route to normal food and straight into my arteries?

don’t remember my gran cutting the fat of the bacon/meat.

We have a high fat diet, butter/ lamb/bacon/cheese etc, no processed :poop:.

Later this week I'll making a chilli with 20% fat beef mince.

They have plenty of mainstream studies showing people who adhere to a carnivore diet have elevated cholesterol in there blood bud have no plaque build up in our arteries with major studies in major medical colleges releasing stats ...if you Google it you get pages of shit before you get this information..
