In the UK, there were 35 fatalities from falls from height in 2024/25, which made it the leading cause of workplace deaths.
This represents a slight decrease from the 50 deaths in the previous year (2023/24) but is above the five-year average.
Falls from height also account for approximately 20% of workplace deaths and hundreds of thousands of serious, non-fatal falls, with the construction industry being a particularly high-risk sector.
