What have you done on your bike today?

This is going on tomorrow then up to the Lakes for a couple of days 👍

Stayed in Barrow-in Furness last night - had a ride round the Lakes; took in a few passes, and some higher speed roads - a good mix.
Big group of about 40 - last time I rode with them it was about 25 and maybe 6 years ago.
Hotel was booked for tonight, but my hips were giving my gip (old bugger!) - I knackered them the other week and thought they were fine. But that’s the first ride since. So I’m home in the bath having a whisky, then going to have a massive steak 🥩

You poor auld bugger :ROFLMAO:

When we were at the pub in the pic above, 2 Ferraris went by together; a blue 488 and a red 296 behind it.
A while later on Wrynose Pass we saw the 488 in the distance, and the 296 holing the traffic up.
Then after a few more miles it turned off onto Hardknott Pass - god knows how it got on up there the way he was struggling on the easier one.

Not today, but last weekend.

When I rebuilt the engine in 'White Lightning', I also completed a service, including brake pads, which have never been changed in 40,000km. When changing the fronts, the retaining pins were siezed and I rounded the allen head socket bolts trying to remove them. I could have messed about and got them out, but I had seen a brake upgrade that was available using a Brembo caliper and a custom bracket.

She's now 'Endo' compliant. :)

I'm glad you said massive 'steak' 🤔🤣

I love the Black Shadow but i do prefer the 1952 Rapide, the year where they got the machine plumb even though they went on to 1955  I see that it has another sprocket on the left side for gearing. The wheels can be changed with no tools. Just undo the Tommy bar on the rear mudguard and lift to release the rear wheel that also is undone with a Tommy bar!!
A very nice collection of Vincent’s at the bike show that Laavas bike was in…

Today was the 7th anniversary of of my son in laws death and my daughter took the day off to go for a long ride and asked me to join her.

We set off at 8.00hrs and made our way first stop at Burrow Mump from the top of which we could see her bigger sister Glastonbury Tor

Then on to Riders Brigewater for complimentary coffee and doughnuts

A little diversion to Stogursey to see the progress with the new power station. We rode right up to the entrance but there was no stopping for photos as the police were there to spoil our fun.

Then to Minehead for lunch.

Up Porlock hill and then back down New Road ( A toll road built by the local estate to circumvent the very steep Porlock hill and make some dosh).

Back through Porlock and up Dunkery Hill you can just make out Dunkery Beacon on top of the hill

Now home, bike washed wine poured. Another great day out on the bike.

Lovely way to remember your son in law Pal .. have a lovely evening and enjoy the Vino . 😍

Had an interesting ride out with mates today. I was the one taking pictures so that is why it looks like I am by myself. At one stop in the middle of the bush, all of a sudden a group of women with dogs appeared and they fussed over me for a bit cos they thought I must have been in trouble! The track we were on eventually went single track and at one point I had to squeeze under a fallen tree! Only fell off once!
