I hope they don't start fitting linked brakes on more regular bikes. You'd be buggered if you like to trail the front brake through bends.
I can sort of see why you might have linked brakes on a long heavy bike like the Pansexual. If you unweight the back end under braking things could get badly out of shape, but with much less weight and semi-active suspension keeping the chassis calm on smaller lighter bikes I can't see the point. And big heavy bikes like the Pan, other full dress tourers and heavyweights like Rocket 3s and big cruisers often feel lighter on their feet through bends if you trail a bit of rear brake.
Does the system only apply both brakes when you use the front or does the rear brake apply both as well?
