Just to add - a realworld scenario of having a motorized dish.....Eurosport DE on 19deg E - in the clear...good for watching the racing in the background....

Usually on sat forums theres a "feed hunter" sub thread where people post up live feeds....eg Glastonbury usually run 4 channels on 12deg West...
Not hard to install....
1. put up a pole (make sure its totally vertical)
2. Go to google maps...put in your address and at the top youll see your lat and long - the north value is what you need.
3. Mount the motor on the pole and on the motor mount youll see the elevation set that to the amount on the google map result
4. Get a compasss and point the motor due south. (make sure you get that exact) and then put the dish on the motor.... (looking from behind) make sure the whole lot is in a straight line...
5. Satellite receivers have an inbuilt signal meter....at this point i pick 2 satellites on each side of the arc....Sky - the one everyones dishes point to....and move the dish around til you see the meter spike...its a strong sat so it literally should hit 100% or close to - then motor round to the opposite side to Hispasat 30W and make sure that lines up....thats pretty well it....all the sats inbetween are already lined up....
You can go a bit further - ive got a sat meter for fine tuning and convenience when im on the roof but i used to setup a webcam looking at the TV in the front room then watch from my mobile while im pushing the dish around...you can also get more signal from `skewing` the LNB...literally just twist it slightly and youll see the signal jump up...
Ive got a 1m dish....the smaller or larger you go gets you more or less sats...from a power point of view all the power is sent up the aerial cable and when you tell the receiver its running a motor it then shows all the satellites.....
Another thing that some people do is motor round to sats that are used by other countries, they then go to a sat supplier and buy a legit card from say a Swedish TV company to watch the premiership footy as its usually alot cheaper...
Its a fantastic waste of time like most of my hobbies and persuits...
