I remember when I moved in here. Three solid days hard painting, a pain in the arse I could have done without. Especially as the painter was one of those types that wouldn't stop talking and even worse, he was a west ham fan. Blinking tradesmen, just paint you Guinness

He is obsessed in cleaning and throwing everything he does not immediately need/use so my sister and I dont have to do it once he is gone. The disease effects each person a little different. I'm sorry to hear about your mum's passing chap. Your dad's gone into survival mode but sadly it's one you'd rather he didn't. I hope you manage to find a way to make it less stressfull (y)

A couple of simple words I use on site with these tradies
" I fucking hate soccer" .... it stops them for a couple of hours at least from talking about the drivel sport 👍 your welcome
 
Went out for pizza. Cugino Forno makes the closest to European pizza I've had yet here. They even have this for their icecream refrigeration:

My site hate is radios. Why do so many tradesmen find it impossible to get on with the job without background noise of inane juvenile chatter and mindlessly repetitive music? It's like psychological torture. It doesn't make the day go quicker, it makes it drag. And if you need the time to pass quicker because you can't wait for the day to end, or if your attention span is so short that you can't apply 100% to what you're supposed to be doing without a noise distraction, you're in the wrong job.
 
Think we will manage this housesit in Devon just fine , however as there are multiple properties on site , fishing lakes pool , forestry , fields , etc, main house has 10 plus bedrooms, hard to decide where to chill , lovely people, left us with loads of home made food and all kinds of baked treats, as it’s in the middle of nowhere 😇😎

I can suggest you try some single malt whisky, Glenmorangie is the one i would drink back in the day. I don't do spirits anymore just Guinness and cider and i avoid Vodka like the plague!! :)

I'm not a fan of etoh, but will partake socially and on special occasions. I am lucky and blessed with my father's ability to rarely overindulge. Maybe after I'm done with work I'll experiment though not likely. There's something to be said for being of sound mind.

Got a nice maintenance weekend ahead of me.....

1. Hopefully the new plugs will get the SXV started....
2. Oil change on dads 400/4
3. 400/4 has complete motogadget wiring loom - installed at the time i built the bike so going to revisit the loom, tidy up cabling and plug sections of the loom so its easy to dismantle.
4. Depending on how well i go, fork oil change on the RSV4
5. Swap spare wheel on the car. Always keep a proper replacement wheel for both of our cars with a brand new tyre on then i can swap it out when i want to then just drop the loose wheel down to the tyre fitters then collect when i want to...more convenience all round.

Starting tonight as her and her mates are getting together for some top level drinking.

Edit - also got some captive spacers to fit to the RSV as well...

Well it’s nice to hear you missed me @West Cork Paul
I’ve been in Ireland for the last two weeks with my
Godfather who has convinced me to transfer my degree over to civil engineering and he took me there as he says Ireland is the civil engineering capital of the world.
He told me to take a hard hat, hi viz, work boots and my guitar as he was going to introduce me to some right characters.
Oh yes we had lots of fun in the pubs and I can now play and sing the Irish rover and wild rover 😂
I have also been doing my Nvq level 7 which a lot of it I already have so should have that done within a few months.
I can then
Get a huge belly bad tattoos and start shouting at blokes that walk by whilst whistling at them 😜 can’t wait
