Rode the Hyper to work yesterday after the new chain install and a lesser extent the Ti bolts (so that more a check to make sure its all torqued up) and after all the recent changes, coils, full service, clutch service, return spring, new HT cables etc etc, i was riding home on it and now where the coils and the domino throttle make the whole experience more direct/accurate whatever word you want to use, i can blip the throttle coming down through the rev range and gears and that not-even-splt-second of killing the throttle and the gear change theres a brief millisecond of silence and all you can hear is the gear clunking into the next one and it sounds fucking awesome...never had that before. Its the best its ever been running.
On the flipside - i got forced into using a Mac at work last month - so im 4 weeks in....theyre fucking shit. I dont know how anyone gets anything done on them. In a corp environment (and especially for Active Directory Management) fucking dont bother. The only positive thing i have to say about it is the battery life is good and it looks good on the boardroom table....nothing more than that.
I've always seen these as a "walled garden" OS.
Waited in all afternoon for a parcel from Amazon, being delivered by dpd. Get a text at 4:37pm telling me sorry we missed you, will deliver tomorrow.
Go onto my emails to get my tracking number to follow it up and at 5:01pm I get an email telling me that the driver attempted delivery at 5:47pm but I wasn't in but will deliver it tomorrow
Use the tracking number and it says he missed me (I was in all afternoon) and it has a picture of a house that isn't mine but they say it's mine.
Lazy Guinness couldn't be bothered to do his parcels for the day.
Phone dpd, call centre in India who say they can't find the parcel, I was rather rude by my standards and in formed them that when they deliver my imaginary parcel tomorrow, to my imaginary house, I will be punching the imaginary driver in the face. This caused some puzzlement in Mombai who then hung up.
Apart from that, some nice Haddock for tea

Had a ride down to Coningsby today Driffield to Humber Bridge then to Caistor down to Horncastle. The crowds were out waving their flags from Horncastle all the way to Conningsby, my Mrs must have told someone I was going, loads of blokes on pushbikes who seemed pleased to see me.

On my Samsung you have to hold the power button and one of the volume buttons at the same time to turn it off or on.Yep

3 kids with high powered gaming machines.... plus a little bit of network infrastructure...few network swtiches that run cameras - hypervisor server....network stuff collectively runs no more than 150w.....voltage clamp tell me that the kids kit when going full tilt about 5-800w each and my daughters snake...which has a heater running 24/7 - bloody kids....
The scary thing is knowing what my kids and myself are like to a certain extent one of the jobs my server does is manage all the smart sockets devices and lights in the house....so ive got auto shutoff all of the above....when youre not in a room the lights go out, usb chargers on stay powered until said device is fully charged, eg the battery tender's in the garage only come on for about 2 hours in the middle of the night to top the batteries up - nothing stays on if it doesnt have to!...Porch light follows sundown and goes off at 10pm [that kinda thing]...and still it is what it is!!

I had thought about it....ive got a place that i reckon i could stick some....
The big hitters are the electric shower, oven and kettle (from watching the voltage clamp) - the main problem is the electric shower and my fucking kids....one has just left 6th form so no job yet [or ever the way it currently is] the oldest just about to start last year of uni and the middle one who while working works shifts but hes not the issue....the other....just wont get out of the fucking shower ever...literally have to bang on the door...to get them out...and invariably me and the other half are at work...so they sit in there til their skin falls off...

Can you turn the hot water off?
Usually get's them out fast enough, and with added humour

Finally the stupid Guinness of a thing turns off
Mine's a 24FE. Like Dox I had to Google (well, Duck duck go) how to turn it on when I bought it because it came with no start-up instructions. Just a phone in an oversized box. Didn't even get a fucking charging lead.
The search came up with the power + volume for on and off and I've done that ever since. Never occurred to me to scroll down from top. TBH didn't know it was a thing until the lady in Nat West was showing me how to use my banking app..
Are you insane? Being able to use a device in an uncomplicated fashion? You would feel like you are in control, and thats a big no no.Why can't they just have an on/off button???
