What the feck have you done today?

ScooFor what?

And judging by the carpet you're in Exi's front room - how long are you back for?
Its the ranfurly shield, a rugby trophy. Northland, my adopted team currently hold it and players take it around different locations ( schools, pubs, old people's home etc) for fans to have a look and hear about its history an stuff.
Last night was our locals turn. Had to go straight from work as i didnt know how long it was gunna be there. It was a great evening.
Kiwi's are pretty keen on rugby and any excuse for a piss up!!!

Got the lake to myself.

Yes until next month and then I’ll be pike fishing.
This lake is full of them.

Years ago I took my two youngest camping next to Windermere and we went swimming at dusk. One of them asked "there's no pike in here are there"..."no I don't think so".

Anyway turns out there fucking loads 🤣

He'd seen a guy nearly get his fingers taken off by one on Youtube

Yes there’s loads and some are huge. I fished Estwaite Water last year for pike but nobody caught on the day I went.
The biggest in this water is just over 18lb and it was the last fish I caught last season.

After I fitted a new kitchen tap a few weeks ago, I found I needed to improvise something to prevent the tap rotating in an undesired fashion. (Awkwardness under sink meant a non-standard solution was required). Alas a trip to hospital , an operation and a recovery period intervened.

This afternoon, I put the improvised solution in place with only a little bit of cursing and swearing (each tirade really only lasted between five and ten minutes each). Regrettably, the language was sufficiently vitriolic that the birds decided to leave me to it rather than watch the fun so maybe, it might have been bad.

The tap is now fully operational with no rotation other than what it is designed to do. Feck me though, I hate having to work under the kitchen sink.

Wife came back from a tour of the Shaw and Royton charity shops today, and gave me a blue jumper with the "new" tags still on, she found during her rummage for £4-50p.

"Try it on Ron"

"It fits Elsie - but why is there a shop security tag still attached?"

"Fuck....."
