How much is the watch service?I'm on Bushmills tonight, recovering from the shock of my wife telling me how much a watch service is, and suggesting I solve the problem by giving the watch to my elder son.

Not tried the Original one yet but the Blackcurrant one is what we were drinking in the Café and it was lovely - I didn't want the Original but that's all they had in the Airport Duty Free so I bought it, then after going through passport control at the gate there was a little shop that had Blackcurrant so I had to have bothSounds awful…![]()
Without knowing what you have and what needs doing that sounds horrible. I've been using The Watch Doctor in Tring for about 15 years and never paid anything like that. Miles and miles from you but they offer an insured delivery and collection service. My brother had a big service on his watch there a couple of years ago and it was about £250 from memory.£750 plus parts![]()
I seriously thinking about changing trade£750 plus parts![]()

Don't use an oil free compressor or it will seize up over time, use the cheaper oil injected type. It's a watch dude ... open it blow it out with a compressor and close it back up bosh 750 for 5 minutes...![]()
I checked out the website and times have changed - a service for an automatic starts at just under £500 and works up from thereWithout knowing what you have and what needs doing that sounds horrible. Might be worth a call.
That's a shock. I took the watch in and collected it for my brother so i checked my old emails. They charged £170 back in mid 2022. This was for a service and to fix the date symbol as it was stuck. They are a nice bike ride away from me so I'm happy to call in and get a quote in person. PM me the watch details if you like.I checked out the website and times have changed - a service for an automatic starts at just under £500 and works up from there![]()

No bustle in ya hedgerow? This was on offer at Tesco and highly recommended by a bloke in the store who bought a bottle before me and said he gets one every time it`s on offer.
It`s smooth, quite subtle and @ 50% it`s strong . The link has an enhanced description but I can`t say it reminded me of pebbles, sea air or that feeling you get when you look to the west and your spirit is crying for leaving. I must be a whisky heathen I guess.

If I were you I'd try again with the peaty whisky. I got one as a present earlier this year and I had to force the first glass down as it was like drinking antiseptic. My daughter and her partner were away on holiday recently and very kindly bought me a bottle of whisky as a thank you for looking after their pets, watering plants etc. Unfortunately the whisky they got me has a very strong taste of peat and I really can`t stand it . It`s a litre bottle and I have had about a tablespoon size amount. I know some people prefer the peaty flavoured whiskies, fuck knows why.
Last year I was also give a cinnamon & whiskey liquer . It is as you might expect quite revolting.
Anyway, they are just going to sit on the shelf taking up space where I could have drinks that I`d actually drink but rather than throw them away I thought I`d mention them on here in case anyone wants them . Perhaps as a gift for someone they dislike intensely ?
I don`t want anything for them other than the cost of postage which for the mainland UK will be £5.00-£8.00 depending where you live. Let me know if interested and if you might feel guilty getting £60 of whisky for a few quid then send a donation to your local air ambulance for whatever you feel is appropriate. You never know when you might need one.

I have a bottle of Smokehead which is quite peaty but not unpleasant. I don`t drink it often but it`s bearable. If I were you I'd try again with the peaty whisky. I got one as a present earlier this year and I had to force the first glass down as it was like drinking antiseptic.
I tried again the next night and the more I tried it the more I liked it. I'm now happy to buy the really peaty malts.
Being a raving alcoholic but on a budget, I often buy a few bottles of cheap wine and a real nice one. Drink the nice one first and by that time those others don't taste so bad at all..My daughter and her partner were away on holiday recently and very kindly bought me a bottle of whisky as a thank you for looking after their pets, watering plants etc. Unfortunately the whisky they got me has a very strong taste of peat and I really can`t stand it . I prefer to drink stuff I like the taste of but definitely not an alcoholic. I make sure I never drink more than 7 nights a week and always stop when I fall asleep.Being a raving alcoholic but on a budget, I often buy a few bottles of cheap wine and a real nice one. Perhaps try this approach?
Unless you are just one of those poofs that drink booze coz they actually like the taste....then i have nothing ..
