What whiskey/whisky are you drinking? 🥃

My sister-in-law gave me a bottle of this last week, after buying it duty-free on her cruise.

I'm on my second tumbler, but to be fair, I wouldn't recommend it - 46% and not the smoothest malt - must be paying for the unusual bottle it comes in.

Get yourself a bottle of 12 year black bush you won’t go wrong.
Bike is running well by the way. 👍
Thank you, I`ll definitely be trying that.

I`m trying to remember how many years ago it was that you bought the bike from me, got to be at least 6 or 7. Glad to read it`s still going well. Is it your only bike now ?

Ah bugger…I was in the shop trying to remember what you’d recommended…came away with Jameson Triple Distilled. It’s ok - quite smooth.

I’ll have to write it down.
All Irish Whiskey is triple distilled (and all at least 3yrs old before released), it’s what differentiates it from Scotch whisky which is double distilled.

We’re all just so smooth over here 🤣.

My brother's a keen Vodka fan And I've been buying him a vodka from New Zealand called The Reid. Well he's now also become a fan of Haku Japanese vodka.

My reason for mentioning it is, Haku also make Whisky so have any of you tried Japanese whisky?

Not yet but so many countries are making whisky now. Japan, India, Canada and many more so loads to try.

When I visited the Jameson distillery in Dublin (many moons ago) the nice lady tour guide was wittering on about triple distilled and how Irish whiskey was so much better than Scottish whisky in every way imaginable and blah, blah. When I asked her why the stills had 'Dufftown' embossed on them she went quiet 🤣

Bastards at Jameson making a big thing of it…even put it twice!

@Dukesox - they must all be able to levitate 👍

To be sure, to be sure 🤣

Actually, an educated guess is because that’s an export only version and thus there’s a need to explain to the proletariat outside of Ireland.

The 3 casks thing means it’s been stored in 3 different flavour tainted casks during its maturation period. They probably just blend the 3 together, ie a cask that’s been in an old sherry cask, a cask that’s been in an old bourbon cask and a cask full of stuff that was matured in a virgin chestnut cask.

I like Irish whiskey but prefer Scotch. Irish is softer and sweeter and whatever the brand always seems to have a faint vanilla note to me. I prefer a touch on Scottish peat and smoke.

I rarely buy any whisky though as once the bottle is broached and there's something good on telly it's all just too easy...

Yeah it must be getting on that way.
I bought a monster 1200s as a stable mate but just couldn’t get on with it. Sure it does all the things it’s supposed to do but it wasn’t a keeper. Loving the old SS.
