No it’s a British White. Largest herd in the county - they also have a herd of water buffalo’s and had some calf’s - very friendly

About 20 years ago I use to get a full ribeye for £9 from a guy I knew that delivered cattle around the country.At £67 a kilo for ribeye maybe not
I would get about 9 big steaks out of it once I’d butchered it.
It became popular almost overnight after some chef on TV raved about ribeye and the same joint I was buying went up to £27.
I dread to think what I’d have to pay for it now.
On a good day i pay $30 a kilo ( £13) from the freezing works shop, got a mate that works there. About a year ago it was $21 a kilo.
Most supermarkets and butchers are up around $50 atm so we are doing ok but if it wernt for my mate i wouldnt be eating much rib eye at all. As it stands we have about 10kg of it in the freezer.
We used to sell hundreds of ribeye steaks a week to a restaurant in Blackpool that sold them as sirloins - they never had any complaints as far as I know. Back then no-one had heard of ribeye.
The same guy used to joke about his Mr Whippy style ice cream kiosk on the prom. The ice cream was whipped that much it had a high air content to it, and they used to make sure they got the money before handing it over on a windy day because a strong breeze would blow the ice cream off the cone.

FYI, water buffalo meat has much less fat and cholesterol, and far more protein, than beef. Also pretty tasty!

Me, Elsie and the dog (Lucy) went to a big charity shop in Littleborough today.
10 cds for a pound, all clothing £2, and all books free.
Elsie spotted a big book on Coronation Street, and as her friend has a Downs Syndrome daughter (aged 40+) who loves that particular soap-opera, she snaffled it for her.
When we got to the car, we noticed that the inner cover had at least twenty signatures of actors who have featured in it (including Pat Phoenix).
It's now going to it's new home with a Corrie addict.

Sitting in surgical admissions. Been here 5 muns and im already bored to fuck..
On the weekend our washing machine shat itself. Thought we would get someone out to fix it rather than buying new. $115 call out fee to tell us it is beond repair.
It was second hand when we got it nearly 2 years back but it was only a few years old and an expensive samsung one.
Anyhu, been desperately trying to save money for my time off work ( that hasnt worked so well!) And yesterday had to stump up 450 for another...

Sent b into town to pic it up as i was fucken busy. The chaps that loaded into her car told her she needed to tie it in so it didnt slide and break the rear window. She came up with this..

Got surgery at 1.00 pm.
Had a general anesthetic and was also offered a nerve blocker, they identify the nerve via ultrasound and then freeze it, supposed to give 24hrs of zero pain but it didnt work. Apparently this can happen.
Im being kept in over night because no one has been available to discuss aftercare or give me meds to take away.
All good. Just had some morhine and went for a wander. Found myself in an off limits area and while i was being escorted back to my room i bumped into the surgeon who did my op. Stroke of luck as i was told he had gone home so i wasnt going to get a summary of how it all went.
Anyhu he was more than happy to chat for 5 and told me it went really well and i definitely needed the tenodesis surgery despite previously not being convinced i would benefit from it. He also removed the bone spurs from my collar bone ( hopefully this will help with the hand pain as well as making things slide more freely.
I guess only time will tell but he is of the opinion that i will make a speedy recovery and my time in a sling will only be 2-3 weeks rather than 6 as is the standard.
Im pretty comfortable if quite sore but i can imagine a good few painfull nights coming up!

Great to hear chiz .. the wife got a new hip earlier this year and in the process the bone spurs were gone from the top of her femur.. she's a different person with the constant pain now gone .. I hope the recovery is quick and painless pal
One of my last jobs at home was to make a one handed chopping board/food prep station by after a few set backs it just didnt happen. Bit of a shit. You can buy these sort of things but they are poorly thought out and wickedly over priced. I see a market! Might get a mate over to help cobble one together for now.
How is that going to work? Do you operate the chopping blade with your one good hand and push the carrot/cucumber or whatever it might be past the blade with some other appendage?
I see this enterprise being fraught with hazard. Do be careful out there.
