What whiskey/whisky are you drinking? 🥃

The flavours just keep developing. Hard to beat this one. Spent a pleasant week on the island many moons ago and stayed at the Bunnahabhain Distillery cottages. In those days there were 7 distilleries on the island, visited them all. The clootie pudding at Ardbeg distillery also recommended.
One of my all time favourites after Laphroaig 👍 which I ended the evening on.

Will you ever drink it ?
I tried a sample when I bought it in the mid 90's (impulse buy at the airport), very nice it was too, I never got round to opening it and when talking to a whisky bore in 2012 I found out it was then worth £800 😳 I checked again this year and £2,500 👀 so I think I'll keep it until I really need the money or the bottom falls out of the market and drink it 😁 bubbles always burst so I'll probably drink it sometime soon 🤣

I guess you need to either sell it and buy something (several things) more ‘regular’ or drink it. Whatever you do, don’t die whilst still in possession it will only get drunk at your wake by the relation/friend you detest the most.

If it were mine, I’d open it on a significant birthday and invite @Expat Jack and yourself around 😄😉 hint hint.

🤔 So, I have got a cunning plan. we buy one bottle of £800 whiskey, divide it into 12 shots to give away at an airport. Then fill 12 bottles of any old piss and put a nice label on it to sell for £800 each to the people that tried the shots...this time next year Rodney....

edit: I would do exactly the same, I’ve got a bottle of wine somewhere had since my 20’s I Promised myself I would drink sometime special....30th? No, 40th still no. Prolly fkin vinegar now anyway!?!?

I got done last year - we had a friend do some work in the garden for us and wouldn’t take any payment. We agree that at the poppy appeal evening I would buy the bottle of wine at the auction, somebody had been left it and donated it to the poppy appeal. Cost me £170 still in the cabinet, but may have had a result as seem to be going up in value now.

£170 for a bottle and cabinet seems reasonable
